I moved away from the area two years ago so once in a while I like to come back for a weekend. I've tried a handful of hotels in the lower price range and have been very disappointed. I have to say I'm a fan of motel 6 at this location. For it being one of the cheaper brands, it really surpassed my expectations! this is definitely gonna be the place that I booked from now on. I did not want a room on the third floor. So the guy offered me one of the pet rooms i'm the first floor but he wasn't sure if I would be OK with it. I didn't smell any animals or urine. All was fine!

Safe stay for the price, bath & laundry need attn

Beds were very from, pillows were exhausted, bedding was clean. The bed frames were dusty, bed lamps were ok. Room lighting was obnoxious a wall sconce with the what seemed like a mercury bulb in it. The vanity area was average. No microwave no fridge. The ice machine worked (surprisingly) vending machines worked but a 20oz soda was $2.50. Definitely about 39 min drive to downtown Chicago. Not much of a selection of quick dining in the area unless you drive 8-10 mins. Casual dining is even farther about 19-24 mins depending your taste. General area was safe very nice neighborhood. Laundry machines were both broke if you needed laundry. Swimming pool closed (seasonal) can’t say condition. Parking was good plenty of that. All non-smoking rooms in site, though you could tell the room I stayed in was previously a smoking room and smelled like stale ash tray… still. The bathroom was the worst part, the water was hot the pressure in shower was average, the sink pressure was good but it had faucet that sprayed like an old kitchen sink sprayer little streams so not great for shaving. There was no bath tub it was a small corner shower next to the toilet and you can tell it hasn’t been maintained they painted over the shower pan at least twice it was all peeling, towels were ok, wash clothes were see through. Typical soap bar and ice bucket no shampoo or conditioner. Shower curtain didn’t reach the shower pan you could tell where water has been an issue. Did get deposit back at chk out
