The breakfast included is not what it was the last time I stayed here. The eggs were dry and they no longer have salsa, cheese or hot sauce to make them palatable. The sausages were over cooked but the biscuits an gravy were fine. They only have white bread now and no bagels or yogurt. Overall, the breakfast included is a disappointment.

The desk person who checked me in was horrible. Not hospitable at all. Made me feel like i was being a burden to her when all I was trying to do was check into my hotel room. She had no smile, no warmth, no pleasant greeting. Nothing to offer me except cold and abrupt service. I told my wife we won't be staying at this hotel again. There are too many other hotels downtown to be messing around with this place again.

Nice location and room was nice and clean. My only negative is the water in the shower would suddenly lose pressure and the temperature would change from cold to super hot by itself.

Great location if you enjoy walking and want to catch some of the main tourist attractions.
Parking was a bit pricey.

Room was comfortable and spacious. Staff in reception area were very helpful.
Breakfast was poor, very limited choice of fresh food and all served on polystyrene plates and polystyrene cups which can’t be good for the environment.

Parking was a plus, and to us a very important perk. Housekeeping could have used an upgrade. There were areas not dusted/cleaned that I assume were missed, especially in the bathroom. The warm water while showering was a bit lacking, i.e. the pressure would go in and out, get very hot and then get freezing. Very frustrating. But that aside, we loved this hotel. We had come from the Hyatt which supposedly was rated much higher, but we could write a book about the negatives and the expense. So yes, we recommend LaQuinta and loved our stay, even if it was for only one day.

Its a good budget hotel. But don't expect more. I found some things very strange. They don't provide water in the rooms and I don't mean bottled mineral water but even normal tap water with glasses. Only hand soap is provided. No other toiletries like toothpaste. They offer complimentary breakfast which is good. But no options for vegetarians. So if you are a vegetarian or vegan, I won't recommend this. On the whole I would rate this average for a 3 star experience

Convenient to Amtrak and the Loop. Great staff and decent breakfast. Heads up if your back is sensitive that the mattresses are very soft - but this seems to be typical with most hotels these days.
