I enjoyed my stay at the Arlo in Chicago. I applied for a last minute upgrade to a "city view" and was a little underwhelmed with the room given my view and size of the room. However, I will say that the room was clean and the hotel is quiet for the most part so I was able to get a peaceful rest. The hotel is located right next to Michigan Ave so it's super convenient to walk to various stores in the area and access local restaurants.

Nice and unexpected to have the bathrobes. I liked the smallness of the hotel compared to the big chains in the area. Location can't be beat. I liked the nespresso machine.

The hotel was very clean and the rooms were nice. However there are hidden fees that aren’t not listed as part of the price or anywhere else on Expedia or their website. We had to pay 25 a night, an Urban Fee, so called, that was not listed as part of the cost. Also the areas they list as possible study or conference areas are loud and noisy in the middle of everything. In addition the restaurant has its own hidden fee of 3 percent listed at the bottom of the menu. For these reasons it seems that the hotel is gauging its guests even though it is clean and the rooms are nice
