This was honestly the worst hotel stay of my life.
To start, we have stayed at this hotel many times. I used to stay at another hotel downtown but switched to this one because we liked it so much—well, I wish we never had. We visit downtown quite often, so I’m a seasoned traveler and know where I need to stay for a peaceful experience. The whole reason I book a hotel is to get some rest, and that did not happen during this stay.
When I arrived at the hotel, I asked the front desk attendant for the lowest floor possible. However, he struggled to understand me as he did not speak fluent English. After checking in, I noticed he had placed me on the top floor facing the street. I went back to the front desk three separate times, requesting to be moved, but he refused to change my room. Each time, he insisted that he had given me the lowest floor possible, but in reality, it was the highest floor.
Throughout the night, ambulances kept passing by, starting at 3 a.m. and again around 5 a.m. I have a professional job and never stay up late, but this one night, I had taken a day off work to go out and relax. I went to bed at 1 a.m., only to be woken up two hours later by sirens. I struggled to fall back asleep but finally dozed off around 5 a.m., only to be abruptly woken again at 7 a.m. by the housekeeping staff.
