Upon arrival I noticed the parking lot was an alley. Parking was an additional $50. When we got to our room we were supposed to have a sofa sleeper, asked about was told we would be moved in the morning at no extra cost due to the incorrect room. We were never moved and was given poor service when I inquired about it the next day. The desk associate even raised her voice many times to me & told me if I wanted to have a bigger room I would need to book another hotel or have whomever I talked to do it. It was Christmas Day so I walked away and proceeded with my day. We were looking for a great place to frequent downtown as we come to Chicago at least 6Xs a year. We will be passing on this place it was also cold in the room with the heat set at 79 the temperature outside was 30s. Crazy!

I picked this hotel because it was different, but I expected it to have basic things that other hotels have. There is no security lock on the door, just a basic deadbolt. I was surprised by the lack of counter space in the bathroom, or anywhere in the room... essentially no place to put all the things you need to bring with you when staying in a hotel. The lighting was terrible. No bedside lamp; and the ones above the bed, while extendable, were zipped tied so the couldn't be brought down to brighten up reading material. The main lights are so high up they didn't do anything for needed brightness. No TV guide, no phone, no iron or ironing board...and I did not see a smoke detector in the room. The floor was cold because the only rugs were under the beds. But for me the worst item was that my CC was charged more than my Expedia Reservation price that was booked months ahead. I asked the front desk about it, but was told there would be no management to address it until Monday...after I have already checked out. At the time of this review, I am already back home. The front desk associate, a very pleasant young Asian woman, was very nice, and assisted with any questions I had, despite the reservation charge issue. I had asked for extra blankets, and they were waiting in our room upon our return that night. The hotel itself was pleasant in atmosphere, and decor, very clean, and quiet. But I don't believe I will stay here again.

While staying here there was a roach in the bathroom. I have reached out to this proper multiple times. I have phots and videos that I attempted to share with this property. They have made no effort to return any of my calls, texts or emails. I would not recommend this property. Poor service and need’s exterminating.

The property is nice, clean, spacious. The customer service sucks- glad nothing was wrong because there is no one around and they do not answer the phone. Sad because it is a great area and accommodated our large group… but, because of the lack of customer service and delayed / still waiting on a response email I would not recommend

The shower was wonderful, better than home. Very comfortable beds, next to the L, but still really quiet. The kitchen on the lower level was cooking show worthy, I could see having a family gathering there and being able to use the industrial kitchen with multiple sinks and ovens to prepare a family meal. Expedia marked it as a $70 fee due at property it's actually $49.95/night resort fee. We could not take advantage of the resort fee except the six free beverages since we only stayed one night. Use spot hero ahead of time if you want cheaper parking, many open lots around. Staff was friendly.

Be prepared for fees. Apparently it's a common thing for Chicago. Even though it was communicated when booking, there are signs at check-in from frustrated patrons. And I get it -- all the junk fees attached to the price of a hotel stay exceed the cost of the actual reservation. The rooms were small, but nicely appointed. The themed decor was appreciated. The area around the hotel was walkable, but be prepared to pay for parking -- since obviously that premium service isn't included in all the fees charged...smh
