We love the Citizen M concept of small but cleverly designed, comfortable, high-tech rooms and welcoming, hip public spaces. The Chicago location could not be better located, right on Michigan avenue easily. Walkable shopping in the Riverwalk. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff we encountered at check-in and in the breakfast and bar areas were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We came for a friends trip, booked multiple rooms, but always had easy comfortable spots to get together in the lounge. Lounge. Breakfast was $20, and much better anticipated. I have also stayed in the citizen M in London, and based on those two stays, I'd confidently book a Citizen M any time.

Great place. Room perfect for a single traveler. 2 people would have been a tight fit. The bathroom and room were brand new and very clean. The whole room was controlled by an iPad which was great.

A Must Stay Hotel

Vibrant, modern, and very clean hotel that is centrally located close to everything Chicago has to offer. The hotel itself made us feel 10 years younger with the funky decor and iPad controlling the entire room! The outdoor patio was a great way to have a drink outside while watching the Chicago streets below and the staff did a wonderful job with the check in/check out process. Yes, the room is a bit tight and a little awkward with climbing over someone in bed/bathroom situation … but for the cost and location, you can’t beat it. The lack of a coffee machine in the room and no onsite parking were the only issues (it was a bit stressful finding a parking garage/navigating the under streets of the city). Will definitely recommend and stay again!

While everything was fairly new and clean, the room was much smaller than we could have ever imagined. Had no idea what to expect. Everyone was very friendly and close enough to everything that we were able to walk everywhere.

We got here and it was more of a hostel experience rather than hotel which is expressed on the site. Once we got into our room our towels were dirty and full of makeup. We opened our curtains to watch the river, left to go to dinner and our curtains were moved. Both front and curtain, have 15 min of talking to front desk about this and being gas lit. Would not recommend.

Unexpected Surprise

First time at this location. Everything is very typical, thoughtful Citizen M. The modernization, the great furniture, the good breakfast, etc. BUT the swan song of this hotel is the gym. Best hotel gym I've been to in a long time, and it was an unexpected surprise.
