I booked this hotel as a romantic vacation with my wife and it was difficult to check in, we had to download an app and didn’t actually need to? We were told parking would be $7 and somehow I ended up paying $32 dollars for it. I had to call someone 5 times to check in because there was no one at the desk. I liked the vibe of the place online but we didn’t realize this hotel was basically on frat row at UVA. We loved listening to people yell and scream in the streets and Disturbia by Rhianna 4 times after having a romantic night out. It was not the vibe at all. Who opens a hotel in the middle of student housing? There was garbage everywhere we are just bummed out! My wife and I planned this vaca out and this was a huge flop for us. The lack of communication in the office and weird vibe of the neighborhood makes us sure we will not be back.

We loved this place. Something needs to be said about the train tracks about one half block away. Not enough to not stay here. It was truly a great experience.

Cute but some issues
The employee was very friendly and helpful but they are not there 24/7 so the check in was a bit stressful because we were due to arrive after they’d be gone. This required me to download an app to access a room key. When we arrived she was still there thankfully because when I had called earlier the other employee failed to send me a welcome text with WiFi info so that could have been frustrating if she hadn’t been there. The room was decorated in a fun retro vibe. The bed was comfortable. Those were the positives. It’s a great location if you’re visiting the school. Unfortunately someone had smoked in the room or was smoking in another room and it was filtering in. I think it was the latter because later in the morning I couldn’t smell it anymore. It was so bad that I was only able to sleep for about 3 hours. The room was also extremely cold with no way to adjust the temperature. In the morning the people above us sounded like they were going to come through the ceiling while walking around. The noise outside also carried in very easily. There is no on site parking so we had to drive around looking for street parking and ultimately parked in a garage down the street. The walk wasn’t bad but when you’re carrying luggage it’s not ideal. If you’re looking for cost effective and close to campus and don’t mind the negatives it’s a good option.

Internal room provisions were quaint, eclectic, but good; external provisions aren’t great - hard to find and even to identify, no designated parking even to register, more motel style than hotel style, but a fair bargain for the price and location.

The hotel itself was super cute! The room was decorated nicely in the mod style and it was a roomy. The Mod Pod food truck out front was really good too. The location is another story. It was in a good spot to walk around downtown, however, it is also adjacent to fraternity and party houses. There was a college party directly across the street. They were partying until at least 1 am.

La habitación súper confortable, lo más lindo el estilo años cincuenta con colores pasteles y tocadiscos, con discos incluidos para escuchar. Uno de los hoteles más baratos por la zona. A solo un par de cuadras del campus universitario y una cuadra de restaurantes y bares. Lo único malo es que en los 5 días que me quedé jamás vinieron a hacer el aseo de la habitación, ni siquiera a sacar la basura, aunque dejaba el cartel para que lo hicieran. También hay que tener en cuenta que la recepción no está abierta 24 hs.
