Charming hotel

Had the best girls’ getaway at The Mills House! The central location made it easy to explore all the best of Charleston on foot. The hotel is beautiful, with tons of charm and Southern character. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Perfect spot for a fun and relaxing stay with the girls!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. We’re locals who wanted to do a stay-cation. First time staying in a hotel downtown Chas. Our houses are right around the corner! Next time we stay we’ll get a room by the pool with the cute gates and patios. The staff is always great. We’ve ate many times at the Iron rose and Brian is an absolute gem. We get him as our waiter every time and can’t say enough good things.

We loved staying here for our kids spring break. Great location, walked everywhere. We parked ourselves in the deck behind the hotel which was easy and convenient (also significantly less that if you chose the valet option). Hotel was beautifully decorated and enjoyed some complimentary champagne one afternoon. Only downside was that the room was a bit small for 4 people. Would absolutely stay here again but without kids or do 2 rooms. Thought it was a little pricey but wanted a great location and a pool rather than doing a VRBO.

Great location beautiful hotel

I loved room 402, which looks over the pool and courtyard. The outdoor areas are so beautiful, and the location is perfect for everything in the historic district. One tip to the traveler: If you drink as much water as I do, they have a fantastic filtered water machine with their hallway ice machine. However, you have to put your hand over the sensor to get the best service out of it; it doesn’t seem to recognize the glass or the bucket. The front desk told me that tip when I called, and I stayed hydrated because of it.

Met every expectation and above

The hotel was even better than pictured. The beautifully preserved history with new modern finishes was the perfect Charleston feel for this family trip. We are already looking forward to our next trip. Staff was so polite and helpful. Our waitress in the restaurant Maddy mad sure we had the most perfect first night of our trip. We ran into the hotel from a fast moving thunderstorm and were swiftly placed at one of her tables. She was wonderful to my children and took immediate genuine interest in their excitement for our trip. When discussing our plans and asking for her favorite local places she went above and beyond. At the end of dinner she brought an order ticket to us with a list of places to take the kids, have brunch, best sweet treats and coffee, sights to see and places to shop. It took so much stress off of me searching and googling to give my family options. We went right to Maddy’s list daily to pick our plans. The chef at the restaurant also must have the highest standards and hospitality! A bit of our meal was delayed, honestly not even an issue because we were enjoying our time, but he sent out the tuna tartare on him and did not bill us for our salad that was a bit behind our meals. Every bit of food we ate was perfection and we ended our first night feeling as if we picked the most perfect place to spend the week.
