MY RESERVATION WAS FOR AN UPPER FLOOR. i HAVE A HEARING ISSUE AND RESERVED A ROOM ON AN UPPER FLOOR AWAY FROM STREET NOISE.. WHEN I CHECKED IN I WAS TOLD THEY WERE FULL AND I HAD A 3RD FLOOR ROOM. NO WAY TO CHANGE. THE DESK CLERK DID NOT SEEM SYMPATHETIC TO MY NEEDS, JUST TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.

The hotel lobby is beautiful. The room was small. The bathroon was super small. Staff were not super friendly or helpful. INwas very disappointed at the cost of what I paid and what I recieced. I moved my reservation to the Hampton Inn and for less cost had a room the was twice the size and newer..Staff are super friendly and we have a really good breakfast. So will not go back to the Francis Marion or recommend it to others. Disappointing

Lots to like here. Beautiful lobby, convenient restaurant, free water and coffee in the room. Great location. Early check-in and noon checkout. Yet … Took 30 minutes to get our car from valet after front desk neglected to call for our car. Our heater/AC ran all night — we tried, we really did. Tiny bathroom with stained toilet. We were excited for Sunday brunch at Swamp Fox but when we went, there was no such thing and the hostess told us our reservations were after breakfast and before lunch so we waited. Website clearly spelled out brunch. (Lunch was good but we would have gone somewhere else for brunch.) Details matter, especially at a high-end hotel. I doubt we’ll stay here again.

Love the location - park across the street, shopping and dining nearby and a short walk to Charleston Music Hall. The lobby is beautiful. Our bathroom was claustrophobic.
