Great location but property needs attention
Great location. My room needed renovation and a good cleaning. There was mold in the tub, blood on the comforter, and rather large spiders climving the walls. Housekeeping never entered the room during 2 day stay.

I uderstand that the norms around daily made service are changing. I don't like it but it is what it is. But I believe that if the hotel is not going to have daily made service , they should tell you that up front. I believe that a hotel should at least offer new towels every day. It seems that once you Check-in, you are on your own to ask for towels if you need them. There was also a very strange low volume electronic noise in the room that I could not identify or find. It made it difficult to sleep.

Do not stay here
Good: Beds were comfy, place was quiet and breakfast was good. Location very good. Bad: No fan in the bathroom (which I thought a requirement), one light in room didn't work, no plug in bathtub, but by far the worst was no internet to speak of. Got bumped from it at least every 30 seconds. So bad we cancelled our second night stay and went elsewhere. Also, back door to building was left unlocked - no key required to enter so security was non-existent. View is a joke - windows not in a position to even be looked out of.

Both door to unit and bathroom were improperly hung and difficult to close. Bathtub had lots of chips in the finish. Bathroom cleanliness average. Property overall appearance dated and dingy. I've stayed in a dozen La Quinta's and this was not up to that standard

BANG for your buck. Book this budget beauty : )
Last minute weekend trip to Charleston and we decided to book this budget friendly beauty. Really glad we did. Staff were super friendly, hotel is centrally located and QUIET, right on the water. Yes, the building is old but the bed was comfy, showers were hot, towels were lovely and fluffy, parking was plentiful and free and the hotel is dog friendly.

Bad experience on my check in. I personally coordinated a late check in time on Tuesday night Nov 26 to arrive by car driving from Alabama approximately 550 miles trip, via telephone with the hotel front desk person on duty named Jacob and I even upgraded my room to a deluxe for my 4 night stay. I even phoned the front desk a second time to confirm my late arrival check in some time after midnight. I was told that would be fine the desk is “staffed 24/7. Terrible Result: Upon our late arrival for check in around 3 am the the front desk person on duty ( Jacob was off of work now) was NOT previously informed of our pending late arrival and explained to me their Audit was just completed and me and my family could not check in to a room until 8 am due to Hotel Policy. I explained the room was already paid for in advance and booked with Expedia. The front desk person refused. I asked them to call Jacob and a Manager. The front desk did phone Jacob at home (off duty) who confirmed we in fact had a late arrival coordinated for after midnight but Jacob did not pass that information at their “shift turnover”. We were still refused a check in. The front desk person was totally insensitive to us and unconcerned about customer service. We had to sleep inside of our car. I returned to the hotel about 10 am and talked to the next person on duty at the front desk (person #3) and they were insensitive about what had occurred to us when I explained what occurred (above). No refund offered.
