Blood on bathmat. Ink on quilt dirty. Didn’t make bad between nights. Had to ask for more towels. Guy at desk was rude. Had to wait pass check in time to get in. He said we would get marsh view gave us the highway

It is a beautiful view of the Harbor. Nice area, too. The hotel does need more wastebasket in main room. I keep having to walk to the bathroom for throwing trash. Shave and other toiletries need to be added

Area, around was good. The room was clean. But there were no amenities in the room. Apparently LaQuinta and Wyndham provide mini refrigerators and microwaves only in their Deluxe rooms, atleast at this property. That’s what I was told at the front reception when I asked about it. We discovered there was no clock or phone in the room. When I walked back to the reception to ask for it. They said that their staff would bring it to our office. But we never got one. The room had a smell of fresh paint but there were paint splatters all over the bathroom floor. 1 garbage bin in the bathroom, none in the hotel room( it’s no big deal).

A Reasonable Place to Stay

My stay at the La Quinta Inn in Charleston, SC was okay. The room was clean, but the overall condition of the building wasn’t great. The hotel has two separate buildings, and my room was in the one detached from the main hotel. There is a nice riverside view if you get a room facing the water, which is a pleasant bonus. However, there are no walking paths from the hotel to downtown or other nearby areas—walking options are quite limited. It costs approximately $15 to $20 to get to downtown by car. Overall, the stay was pleasant, and the customer service was excellent.

The room was gross. The floor rug was damp/wet. The lamps were garbage. All rusted and disgusting. Lights and fan in bathroom don’t work. They stuck us in the back of the building which looked like it was an abandoned building. Paint chipping on the doors and exterior.

Convenient to downtown Charleston but the free breakfast ended at 9am and it was a 1 on a scale of 1-5. Also, housekeeping entered my room without knocking 2 hours before time to check out. Additionally, our room smelled like a scent that was covering an unwanted scent. Our bathroom door wouldn't shut without slamming it. The employees were not helpful with directions, out of ink for printing a receipt, no drugstore items in their drugstore. Price is good but that is all.

Not bad but not the best- our room was clean and despite some delays with checkin, overall the staff was great. Cons: We had some issues with the door lock jamming when trying to open and close the door (staff said it happens with the locks and salt air with the rooms in that building so don’t choose an outside room if you don’t have to) and there was no fridge or microwave in room. Pros: beds were clean, breakfast included (waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal), parking included, close driving distance to things. Overall it was just a basic stay but not terrible

Close enough to Uber into the city vs driving & paying high parking prices. Only one restaurant (California Dreaming) was close enough to walk too, but it was excellent.

I rarely send this kind of feedback, but I felt compelled to do so because our stay at this hotel was truly disappointing. - One of the ladies at the front desk was extremely rude, loud, and aggressive for no reason. - Our room was never cleaned during our stay, even though we requested it. - Towels were not replaced—we had to chase down housekeeping to get fresh ones. - The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all during our stay. - There was no way to contact the front desk from the room. The phone was either disconnected, constantly busy, or we were immediately placed on hold. - Customer service over the phone was unhelpful and said they couldn’t do anything since they only handle bookings. The most upsetting moment happened on the night of April 2nd. We approached the front desk to buy a food item and greeted the woman on the night shift. She ignored us. We asked for the price—no response. When we politely asked her name twice, she suddenly yelled, “If you ask me one more question, I will call the cops.” She eventually scanned the item, we paid, and left feeling deeply upset and disrespected. We understand people can have bad days, but we came on vacation to relax—not to be treated with hostility and indifference. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below any reasonable standard of hospitality.

We chose the hotel because it was pet-friendly. There was a small unlit area for pets outside. If you went beyond it, there was garbage and glass around the property. We had a buzzing light in the bathroom and were told it couldn't be fixed and there was no room we could change to because they were full. No compensation was offered.
