Location is downtown and convenient for walking. There is no reasonable parking. Valet (not run by the hotel) is $48.00 per day. Public Parking was $45.00 per day, when leaving, the auto pay machine was out of order, had difficulty exiting as the gate auto pay took 10 minutes before the gate opened. Front desk was not welcoming, non-chalant about checking in, no explanation of hotel services or directions to room etc.. more focused on talking to each other. Room was comfortable slightly dated.

I stayed at this hotel several years ago, and we had a great experience. However, this time there was no hot water when we arrived—something out of their control. Which I understand. We didn't get hot water until the next evening. However, one of our main objectives was to let the grandkids enjoy the indoor pool. The water was FREEZING so the boys couldn't enjoy it. They were immensely disappointed and so were we because it was one of the primary reasons for our trip.

Great location to walk King Street
The hotel did not have hot water the first night, but we understand that things happen! Staff was friendly and accomodating and we could tell they were under a lot of stress. They made our stay as comfortable as possible and we loved our room which was clean with a comfortable bed.

I am a local and was looking forward to enjoying a staycation downtown Charleston I booked my room through a third party company upon my arrival AFTER I checked-in I was told that there it's NO water in the entire Hotel so disappointed I ended up having to book another hotel and spending money that I was not expecting to spend and even at the second Hotel it was only double beds available because everyone was being redirected there it was just a total mess

Check in was 4pm and our room wasn't ready until 445pm. Our room was next to the gym so you heard a constant thud of someone running on a treadmill. On day three they said they would be turning off the water for a few hours. We come back to get ready for dinner 10 hours later no hot water. Staff had no answer which was not their fault. The next morning there was still no hot water. Needless to say our trip was derailed at the end due to a bad managerial decision.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at Hyatt House Charleston. For two full days, there was no hot water, and at times, no water at all. This left my family and me unable to shower, and I couldn’t even bathe my young child. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. As a loyal Hyatt customer for many years, I’ve always trusted the brand to provide excellent service, but this experience was shocking. The lack of basic amenities severely impacted our trip, and no adequate solution or compensation was offered during our stay. I expected much more from Hyatt and hope the management addresses this issue for future guests. I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Very nicely appointed room. There is a living space, kitchen and bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and the room was extremely clean. The shower was great with a large shower head and a foot rest for shaving (I almost never see this in hotels). Parking was about $33 a day but at least it was very close and safe. Hot breakfast was good and the breakfast room was large and clean. There is a rooftop bar but we didn't get a chance to go. I would definitely recommend this property.

The hotel was located near lots of shops & restaurants. It was also within a 10 minute driving distance of every attraction we wanted to visit. All of the staff were very friendly & helpful. One of the sweet girls at the front desk (I think her name was Danielle?) went out of her way to make our evening better after some mishaps (nothing to do with the hotel) & the bartender in the lobby bar made excellent drinks! The breakfast was good, the room was clean & a decent size, and the property was well-kept. We will be back!
