Excellent location and staff. Rooms are huge too, two floors (must be able to do stairs). They had a kitchen and a bathroom and a half which was a nice bonus!

All of the staff people were very helpful and offered great info for places to eat and how to get there, as well as allowing us to hang out in the relaxing courtyard with our six adult children, until it was time for them to leave for their flights out. The ONLY downside for us was the stair climb once in the room. We are older, and were so exhausted from wandering around town on foot for 5 hours… There IS a lobby elevator, but still stairs to climb up to the bed space…. Still, we would highly recommend this inn!

Property was ok! Location is great! Hotel needs a major facelift. The site is rundown and needs updates. Our room was good, but bathroom needs complete overhaul. The previous guest had almost broken the floating sink off the wall and the sink did not drain because of it. Has great bones just needs some TLC.

The Church Street Inn is centrally located and convenient to everything Charleston has to offer. The room we stayed in was very roomy, nicely appointed, quiet, and clean. Some TLC is needed (eg, the majority of the towel racks were broken/partially falling off the wall, lots of scuffs on walls and baseboards) and I found it odd that there was no soap in the downstairs bathroom and only 1 bar in the upstairs one. A few of the lightbulbs were burnt out but were promptly changed when I notified the front desk. Overall I highly recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.

We enjoyed being in walking distance of everything downtown. Great food. Sites. The Waterfront. Shopping. Culture. Our room had a kitchen area which we used for breakfast foods. This was a very quiet and delightful space.

Loved the hotel and staff, very comfortable stay. The only down side the room had a musty smell and the microwave was missing handles, it was a little tricky to use. Other than that I would stay there again because it was so convenient to everything.

A great location in the historic district of Charleston. We had two different rooms. The first was a little shabby with area of woodwork needing paint, with scuffed furniture, and a bedroom wall which was only partially painted, the newer paint on one wall coming down only as far as the side of the bed which wasn't flush with the wall.

I wanted to stay at a boutique hotel to get the feel of Charleston. This hotel is old. As soon as you walk into the building you can smell the mustiness. Our hard wood floors were sticky. Our microwave handle was broken. The door frames and stair spindles, and bathroom were dirty. We managed to stay 2 nights and checked out a day early and went to another hotel on Folly Beach. Staff were nice and location is great for walking to the market and popular restaurants.
