The rooms we were given were infested!
My child caught a live bug crawling on the bed and took pictures. Showed the live bug to the front desk person and she didn’t seem to care. Said that if we wanted to speak with a manager we had to come back the next morning at 10am. Shaken, we immediately vacated LaQuinta, and moved to a different hotel. Next day I returned to talk to the manager, but they weren’t there. Worst of all, the morning desk person was not at all informed by the previous one about the reported infestation issue. He was checking if those rooms were not already given to other travelers!?!?! Luckily, he said they were not. I left my telephone number yet again and left appalled, The manager never called. I tried to message the manager through hotels.com site for several days, also without response. Finally the hotel emailed a secure pdf with a receipt which was all zeroes. No communication, no apology for our ordeal whatsoever. Will need to check my credit card as well to ensure we were not charged.
We’ve stayed at the Laquita chain of hotels in other cities before and were always very pleased. It is unfortunate that this particular location tarnishes the good LaQuinta hotel brand. We refuse to recommend this LaQuinta location at 1900 Center Drive in Champaign to anyone. They need to call in pest control to professionally address their issue.
This is a clean, comfortable hotel. There's a little wear and tear but you can tell the operators care. The staff is very friendly. Affordable for us. The breakfast buffet is not fancy but there were fresh oranges and bananas, which is always appreciated. Good place to stay to see the kid at college.
The hotel and room was updated. We were to get a free breakfast, it was only coffee and a muffin, very disappointing. I asked the manager, this was not what I expected and she gave me an excuse.

The stay was perfect for what we needed. I wish that hotels/expedia would be upfront about when they are under major renovations during our stay. The lobby was completely closed, our original room was going to be next to an active construction zone with work not being completed until 7pm. We were moved, but this kind of stuff should be information made known to us at time of booking. It's easier to be agreeable when you know what your expectations are.

I stayed here passing through to WI they were under construction in some parts of the hotel. But it didn't interrupt business. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfast was good.
Exposed wire for light switch shocked me when I tried to turn it on. Pubes on the wall of the shower with mold in the corner. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel
Without individual shampo to me is very unsanitary because different people touch the container plus no klinex in the room only half roll of toilet paper lots of dust when I check in no plastic around the construction in front of the desk
I was very disappointed I have stayed at many LA Quinta hotels and have never had any issues whatsoever. However this was no better than a Motel 6 and double the price the heater in the room didn’t work bathrooms were motel rooms size tub wasn’t clean sheets were dingy and stained had to go to Walmart and buy sheets because the young lady at the front desk couldn’t help me. House keepers were loud outside the room. I was totally disappointed and 200 miles away from home….
