Beautiful view out to the ocean. The hotel is very well situated along the hiking path and not too far from the restaurants and shopping. The staff was friendly and attentive. The pool was busy, even for late September. We had a room with a terrace, and the room interior was nice, but or terrace view was looking at the entrance of the hotel, and although it's a nice hotel, watching people coming and going is not the most beautiful view. The breakfast buffet was busy and there was lots of food. The coffee was always full and the orange was delicious. Check-in and check-out were also easy. The viewers from the hotel and the pool area were definitely worth it.

The view was spectacular! The hotel was beautiful, breakfast was wonderful, staff was friendly and helpful, rooftop bar was lovely! The only thing I would suggest is to get more comfortable lounge chairs w/ cushions by the pool.

The hotel is on the edge of the cliffs and the views at breakfast are simply stunning. We have stayed five times and all the rooms we have had are wonderful. The food at the Mare Restaurant and the bar area is excellent. Everything about this hotel is great but what makes it special is its staff! From the breakfast team, to the bar staff, to the cleaning team and the reception team the people we met are friendly, engaging, polite and the best advert you could ever have for a hotel!

We loved our stay, fantastic room and good value overall, however some small gripes: 1. The hotel bills itself as 5*. While many things were excellent it kind of falls slightly short of that in my opinion. 2. Service is slightly off. Some excellent staff but for instance why would they top up my wife’s coffee in the morning but not even ask me if I wanted the same- just walked straight off? This happened several mornings. On another occasion we were told that the rooftop bar would not make a milkshake for my daughter but no issue with that at the pool bar..this kind of stuff is service 101 which I’d expect a 5* hotel to ace every time. 3. We had roaches in the room twice. Big ones. We were on the ground floor and we were told there is an epidemic of them in Portugal but if they come from the drains there has to be a way to stop them. NYC hotels control this, I’m sure they can also. 4. Other reviewers have commented on this but the pool needs to be retiled from scratch. They clearly are constantly repairing it due to the amount of patching / loose/missing tiles but close season 24 they should redo it properly. 5. We stayed half board and ate at the pool restaurant most nights. Same menu every night but enough variation to last a week. The seafood was excellent though and wine menu was fantastic value overall. 6. The experience could be elevated if they worked just that bit harder to do so. C’mon Tivoli- if you want to compete with the four seasons you need to do a bit better!

Mold in shower crevas Charge $13 bucks Canadian for a fork and knife to be brought to the room. Hallway rugs look like they’re from 1773. Paint outdated and needs a new coat. View is great and that’s what you’re paying for i guess.
