The customer service is great at this property. The hotel needs a few upgrades. There was no way to contact the room service/front desk besides having physically go to the front desk. We went on this trip with some friends and we both had the same room. Our room did not have a refrigerator so we could not keep any cold drinks. It was very loud so if you are looking for a hotel for relaxation I would keep looking. Previously we stayed at different resort away from the city but this time we stayed in the city... more than likely wont be staying in the city again. pros; customer service, breakfast is good, friendly employees cons; when you walk outside the hotel it smells like urine, difficult to get in contact with room service/front desk

Sophia Hotel is ideally located within walking distance to everything! Taxis and horse/buggy are usually lined up right outside the hotel’s door. Its location is more conveniently located closer to nightlife, the local activity and restaurants than many other brand name or more advertised hotels. The staff are wonderful and their rooftop allows a daytime escape from the hustle and bustle when needed. The rooms are well maintained but you have to be aware that mosquitoes exist even in an AC room. Its location is very safe! I would definitely recommend and return to this boutique hotel.

Pro: location, breakfast was excelent and restaurant staff was super friendly and profesional. Best coffe in Cartagena at the restaurant Con: no VIP ameneties, front desk personnel were lost, I reserve a junior suite with king bed and they gave us a queen bed, so I ask to be change of room with a king bed and the front desk guy make sound like it was an upgrade but it wasn't because a pay for that king bed.

The hotel is small but beautiful cool rooftop bar. Staff was great The only problem I had was on check out I owed 12000. Pesos for a coke and trying to pay with a 50000 and was told they did not have change. Which seemed strange for a hotel with a rooftop bar and restaurant did not have change for a 50.

Mi experiencia en el Hotel Sophia en Cartagena fue sencillamente excepcional. Desde el momento en que llegamos, el personal fue increíblemente amable y acogedor, superando nuestras expectativas en todo momento. El desayuno fue excelente, con una gran variedad de opciones frescas y deliciosas que nos hicieron empezar el día de la mejor manera. Quiero destacar especialmente al recepcionista Farit, quien hizo nuestra estadía aún más agradable. Fue muy atento, siempre dispuesto a ayudar y a asegurarse de que tuviéramos todo lo que necesitábamos para disfrutar al máximo de nuestra visita. Su profesionalismo y amabilidad realmente marcaron la diferencia. Recomiendo encarecidamente el Hotel Sophia para cualquiera que busque una experiencia única y acogedora en Cartagena. ¡Volveremos sin duda!

Simply excellent. Sophia Hotel is fantastic hotel in the heart of the old town/centre. The rooftop pool and bar area has a lovely view and the food is good too. The music can be a little loud, but the staff are friendly and happily turned it down when we were the only couple on the roof enjoying the pool. Reception is excellent with any questions you may have and helped us immensely. The breakfast is also amazing! Thank you to the staff for such a great stay.
