Got upgraded because the transport forgot to pick us up. Then after going to the room a couple with crying babies were our neighbors and we could hear all. So got back to our original room where a couple fighting everyday at all hours were our neighbors. The guy was drunk all the time and the staff were keen to talking to them even with their own security until i said that if they dint do it i would go knocking on their door. Finally they talked to the couple and they behaved for a couple hours but it was everyday for 4 days and basically at any hour. Walls for some reason let you hear almost sll hapenning in the room next to you….

What I did not like was that the beach was not private. It was a public beac and alot of locals was camped out on the beach in front of the hotel. Did not feel like a resort.

Best in Cartagena

This hotel is definitely one of the best in Cartagena and especially on the Boca Grande side. I've stayed at this hotel at least four times and will continue to stay at it when I go down to Cartagena. This hotel is top notch beautiful great food and great service. The hotel is very clean very modern and have some of the best views from the pool area that is overlooking the ocean. I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

A Truly Exceptional Stay at InterContinental Cartagena! From the moment I arrived at the InterContinental Cartagena, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and world-class hospitality. The hotel itself is stunning — modern, impeccably clean, and perfectly located with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the incredible staff. Every single member of the team, from the front desk to housekeeping, went above and beyond to make sure my stay was seamless and memorable. The wait staff at the restaurant deserves a special mention — attentive, professional, and always serving with a smile. I’d like to especially highlight Francisco at the restaurant, whose kindness, attention to detail, and personalized service made every meal feel like a special occasion. Everything was very well kept! The pool is kid friendly and just about everything is walking distance. The staff is amazing and our transportation person Alex was 1000/10. Very helpful and kind! Also the building itself is very safe!

Absolutely spectacular hotel! The Intercontinental in Colombia exceeded all expectations with its service, amenities, and overall experience. However, one important note—the beach access right outside the hotel is public, not private. The photos online are a bit misleading, as they give the impression that the hotel has its own private beach, which isn’t the case. It’s very much a public area, which was a bit disappointing and took away from the relaxing atmosphere we had hoped for. That said, the hotel itself is top-notch, and I would absolutely stay here again—just with the understanding that for a true beach experience, a visit to a private island is the way to go.

Wow! What a beautiful property. Upon arrival, Carlos was exceptional in checking my friends and I in. The staff was hospitable and eager to assist any inquiries we had. Even left a cake, card and drinks (sparkling water) in my buddy’s room for his birthday. I’d recommend to anyone interested in 5 star treatment!

The property itself is great and very cleanly. They have amazing breakfast buffet, and the staff is very friendly. However, we wish the windows on the room are wiped down or washed. We booked a ocean view room but we could hardly see anything Through the window, due to the dust and mugginess on the window. Also, the bathroom didnt have a vent/fan working. Rest all was too good.
