Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The hotel is being remodeled so the getting around was kind of difficult. The woman who checked us in was impatient with her directions and wanted me to initial a “room rate” line that didn’t show a room rate.

The rooms were great and the liquid soaps and conditioner in the bathroom were a bonus. Clean room. Bed was very firm. Way too much debris and cigarette butts around the building, on the sidewalk and at the doors. Server at the Grille was short but was pleasant enough when she came back at the end of our meal. All in all it was a really good stay and we will be back

The staff was very friendly and provided great service. The room was spacious and clean. The free breakfast included in our stay was good. Due to remodeling, however, the registration was in the back of the hotel and there wasn’t a lot of signage to help people find it.

TV in living room didn't work. Couldn't obtain signal. The shower had no water pressure. It took over 35 minutes to get hold of front desk to report the issue. I finally called the grill, since front desk wasn't answering calls. The iron in the room didn't work. Both issues caused a stressful delay in preparation for my son's wedding, that day. The bath towels provided had tears, the area behind chairs hadn't been vacuumed in quite a while. When I expressed these issues at checkout, none of the staff cared. If I have to stay in Carson City, again it won't be at this hotel

Our room was a nice size room. We had a Jr. Queen suite. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, which was not completely cleaned out. I really wanted to use it, so, I cleaned the tub myself. It worked great! The tub is big enough for two. The air conditioner didn't work very well. However, I will give them the benefit of the doubt for the air conditioner. They are in the middle of a remodel or some sort of major construction. The beds were comfortable. I was on the first floor and close to one of the exits and we didn't hear much noise at all. The front counter worker at check in was not completely pleasant. She was very matter of fact. None of the drink vending machines worked on any of the floors. I would stay here again.

We booked several rooms here for an off road race we were attending. Rooms were great - check-in staff were very nice despite the fact that they were not in their normal area due to ongoing renovations. Parking was easy for our rigs, Jr. suites were very roomy and would def stay again!

Tahoe trip
Second time staying at the Gold Dust West. This property is very well kept and we return to it for Labor Day Weekend. We enjoy the proximity to Lake Tahoe and it offers very competitive prices. We also really enjoy the amenities especially the gym, jacuzzi, and breakfast they offer.
