Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Family room was spacious and excellently cleaned. For the price it was very reasonable. 2 minutes to railway station , and bars and eating houses. An excellent location for all amenities. Take into consideration that this building is very old but kept to good standard . Loads and loads of towels for one night stay. If in Carlisle again I would definitely stay here everything you need on the doorstep

Although advertised as free parking it was only after I booked that I received an email advising that it was on a first come basis. As a result I had to use paid parking. Room was in need of renovation. Sink didn’t drain. Very good breakfast made up for other things.

convenient in central Carlisle

We were impressed by the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, Dale in particular, who helped us change rooms from frankly a dingy non-soundproofed room to a much nicer room a floor higher, overlooking the street. Traffic noise did not bother us and we slept well. The building itself needs a fortune spent on maintenance and the furnishings need replacing/updating. This once lovely Victorian hotel is not just tired, it is exhausted. If you need a hotel in central Carlisle and are not upset by delapidation and tatty furniture, give the County Hotel a try.

It is easily accessible I'm disabled and in a wheelchair but everything is accessible. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I enjoy the shopping areas of Carlisle and its so easily from the hotel.

Shabby but clean

It is shabby and had seen better days (probably about the same time as the Bay City Rollers were in their prime ) , but for a sleep it was fine for the price . I arrived at 10pm and left at 530am so what more did I need ?
