Dirty, old and run down. The pool was an extra charge, that really annoyed me after spending 120 for a night at a spa place. I refused and went for a walk. Room service came with no cutlery or sauce. All in all it was very bad. I won’t be going back.

Wonderful stay at the Hotel. Room was superior to many & very clean. Staff were professional & very hflpful. Only disappointment was the layout if tables for our event. Tables were far too close together which made it very difficult. Couldnt enjoy the meal due to being squashed in. There was socmuch space at the back of the room, so i dont understand why room was set up like that. Waiting staff dealt with this extremely well - must have been difficult gor them. If you hild ab event there, please check table layout. Really appreciated the ambience created throughout the hotel - seems a lot of thought went into it. Pictures throughout of historical figures holding sporting equipment were exceptional. Think the comany should sell merchandise with them on. Breakfast was superb - fresh, plenty of choice. Highly recommend this hotel.

On site parking is daylight robbery at £21. Same with £16.95 for a very poor breakfast. Rooms also very outdated, stained carpets and tired feeling.

Tired, nousy air con / heating which i had to turn off which resulted in a very cold room in the morning. Shower dribbled and was either really hot or cold. Breakfast average with the cheapest sausages available. 2 out of 4 lifts working.

Welsh trip treat with my daughter
The hotel is ideally located for the town, short walk to shops, restaurants and bars. The decor of the hotel areas was good, we liked the different lighting designs. The bedroom was so hot on arrival, but when we realised the room air con was turned on (which would not go below 19), aswell as the provided fan and mobile air con unit, we turned this off and the room became a more comfortable temperature. Without the fan and unit it would have been too hot. Towels were my biggest issue, with not enough provided for 2 people, and on asking for more at reception they never materialised. On the last night, we were only given 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for 2 people, which I thought was unacceptable, but then the glasses and mugs were not washed up so maybe our room had been forgotten and then had a rush clean. We enjoyed a half day spa with treatment and afternoon tea, which was thoroughly enjoyed. Would have been nice to have Welsh cakes rather than scones, but thats just me looking for the Welsh treats. Breakfast was limited, but perfectly fine. The scrambled eggs however could do with a little work, Sunday they were fab, Monday they were more like a sloppy mess and Tuesday, looked like they had been cut up rather than scambled!

A lovely sleep bed and pillows were so comfortable, however you can’t call it a hotel and spa now as you have to pay £10 pp if you want to use the spa, cos it’s nothing to do with the hotel now
