An absolute awesome Adults only Resort. From the restaurants to live entertainment and nonstop adult beverages. My only concern was the Resort property tax that we had to pay, along with Mexico and Quintana Roo State taxes. Additionally, we did have issues with the air conditioning which was resolved. Highly recommend to anyone looking for no worries Resort to eat, drink, swim, and relax.

I wanted to bring to your attention a disappointing experience during our check-in at RIU Palace Las Américas. Upon arrival, we were received by your receptionist, Angie. Instead of a warm welcome, we were told the resort was “too crowded,” “very noisy,” and “bad,” and she strongly suggested we switch to another RIU property. This felt more like an attempt to redirect us rather than help, raising concerns that our room may have been intended for someone else at a higher rate. Despite her comments, we decided to stay — and we’re glad we did. The resort was excellent, and the experience overall was far from what she described. It’s unfortunate that our first impression was marred by such discouraging and unprofessional behavior. In light of the inconvenience and the negative tone set at the beginning of our stay, I would appreciate any gesture from RIU to help restore our trust in the brand. RIU has a strong reputation for service, and this would go a long way in reaffirming that commitment. Out of respect for the many positive experiences I’ve had with RIU in the past, I’ve chosen not to share this incident publicly at this time. I trust the matter will be addressed appropriately. Beautiful resort. Friendly helpful staff. Great pool options. Good food. Limited drink menu. Room electrical switches not working. Not able to adjust room ceiling fan speed. Overall good experience.

My stay at Riu Palace Las Americas started with my girlfriend slipping in our room due to a leaky fridge leaking water all over the floor. The staff that attended were excellent, bringing in the lifeguard and offering a medic free of charge. I asked to get our room changed and they were able to upgrade us to an ocean view room. Walking distance of big clubs, ferry terminal, shops (everybody will try to hustle you into their shop and it’s all the same products. They will also try to rip you off so make sure you know your dollar conversions and be able to properly negotiate). The food we ate in general was elegant but was all lacking in freshness (some of the food tasted like it had been in the fridge or freezer for a long time). The beach was beautiful and private with excellent snorkelling and coral reef less than 50 meters from the hotel. The staff were excellent - shoutout Nala the barista who made me about 3 quality coffees a day. The activites were the usual resort activities including volleyball ping pong, yoga, aqua fit. There are peformancrs nearly every night however we didn’t find them very interesting. Not the best Riu we have stayed at but we were accommodated and compensated.

This is our favorite hotel in Cancun. We come here every year because of the great property location. The wonderful Accommodations, beautiful beachside and friendly staff makes it worth it.
