Great location and had a nice large beach area. Need to put a walkway on the beach to get to the water sport rentals as it was very difficult to get to. Housekeeping was great! Appreciated the towels being refreshed in the evening. Property was very clean and staff was friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful spot, right in the center of all the action! The resort was great, no much to do after 11pm but within minutes of nightclubs, bars ect. Also having access to the bar and club in hotel beside us was great.

My partner and I stayed for 6 days at the Riu Palace Las Americas. Our first vacation together and first time in Mexico. This place made my first real vacation the best time ever. The staff were so nice, whether it be housekeeping, front desk workers, the activities staff, or the servers. The beach was clean, no seaweed in sight. The three pools were well maintained. There is an odd time where you need to wait for beach towels but never long. The food was great at each restaurant and the buffet was amazing! I will be coming back here next time I’m in Cancun!

Overall I enjoyed my stay at this property. That being said…. The AC in our room was not working efficiently when we got there. I WILL say that I reported this issue to the front desk and they immediately responded and offered to upgrade us for free to a new room or have someone go fix it. The later was fine for us as we were already settled into our room and the issue was fixed. The food was poor and VERY disappointing to us. They do have a 24 hour Lounge with food/drinks available which we really appreciated. The entertainment was subpar although we really enjoyed the Michael Jackson show. The nightly parties were at a different resort and they did provide transportation. We did not partake of this entertainment only because we wanted to remain at the property. From the online pictures and Google maps it looked as if we could just walk the beach to the Hotel RIU Cancun next to the RIU Las Americas which we also had access to but the ocean came up too close to the rocks blocking access from one hotel to the other. This was also disappointing. I was not aware that all water-sports were only accessible from the RIU Cancun NOT from Las Americas.( so even for snorkeling gear you have to go to the RIU Cancun). The reason I booked this hotel was for easy access to snorkeling from the beach, but NOT the case. I must say the whole staff was AMAZING AND HELPFUL. They always responded with “my pleasure “ to any requests. It just wasn’t what I expected.

An easier way to wash feet when leaving the beach and a more convenient bathroom near the beach are needed. The Mexican show and Michael Jackson were excellent, but the other 2 nights were not. The buffet did not change. In the past there were themes at the buffet dinner which was much nicer. It was nice not needing reservations at any of the restaurants.

The husband and I stayed 6 nights and it was his first time in Mexico. I'm used to staying in a larger hotel, however I appreciated how convenient it was to walk around the entire hotel with ease. The staff was attentive and friendly, however the building could stand a few upgrades: more outlets in the room and more bathrooms down by the pool/beach. We'd stay again!

It was a beautiful resort with amazing staff. The only feedback I have is that there was painting being done on my 2 night at the hotel and the smell was super strong to a point it was giving me a headache.

Best beach on the strip by far. The staff takes great care in maintaining it, which other hotels don’t seem to do. Staff were amazing. The hotel is beautiful. Mexican restaurant and the Krystal were our favourites, we didn’t care for the Japanese or the Italian. The steak restaurant is just that, a big piece of steak. Room service could be better. The bed could be more comfortable, our king sized bed was extremely firm.
