The atmosphere was really laid back and inviting. The staff was great very attentive and friendly. My overall thought is a thumbs up. My only complaint was the food was not very tasty. I can’t explain it but it just didn’t meet any of my expectations.

Our room was not ready as promised, we received go around excuses. pressing to get to our room it was suddenly ready to move in. This occurred over 2 hours passed the promised move-in time. we sense the hotel was holding out to rent the room at a higher price while we were offered "other rooms" which were less then we expected. Not a good way to start holidays and 1st time stay with the Rio chain of hotels. we will consider this experience on future Cancun vacations. Luckily there will be plenty of options to choose from.
