The resort is quite nice and fun for the family. Plenty of food options. The diving pool was amazing for the kids (and me). We were on the beach if needed but didn’t spend a lot of time there. Although swimmable it just wasn’t the most appealing….but it was okay. The pools were the place to be for us. The option to move freely between three different adjacent hotels was very nice. A different vibe at each. Staff was good and mostly helpful. We were a bit disappointed upon arrival that nobody really helped us or told us where to go. We eventually found our room and it actually belonged to somebody else! The hotel made up for it by upgrading our room. We also didn’t love the amount of sales pitches (often not very transparent) in the lobby. People were nice but it was overwhelming and difficult to determine if worth it. We tried a couple where they give discounts for tours and in the end they weren’t worth it. I just wanted to point out the few negatives so others can avoid but really overall the stay was excellent.

The. Absolute. Worse. Stay! I don’t even know where to start. Be prepared to walk a very far way as the resort is large. The property and staff really don’t care about you. The bar tenders got grouchy for having to make a beverage at 8:50 when they don’t close until 9. The resort shuts down completely by 10. There is nothing to do for entertainment. The try and provide entertainment at the big pool (which is so cold - the ocean is warmer) and the employees just yell into the microphone. It gets old and tiring. Pool chairs are saved as early as 6 am and NOBODY enforces the hour limit. Buffet food is terrible and so are the waiters. They take the drink orders and never return. We booked the bell hops to pick up our items at 11:30 for checkout at 12, and they never showed up. The beach sucks. They have big barriers in the ocean and it takes away from the beauty of the waters. The resort lacks amenities. We stayed for 10 days and wanted to go home after 4! We will never stay with the name again.

Never go Cancun, never choose this hotel
I can't agree with the high ratings of this hotel. I wonder if they have 1 staff for 30 guests. Even though They are lazy, and they don't keep their promises. And if you ask for service, you will be ignored. This hotel adds to the annoying, it already stressful atmosphere of Cancun. I did say good bye Cancun.I will never visit again Cancun. If you have any plan to visit Carib, consider using Cruise. More fun more cheap.

Overall the resort was nice and clean but I did have a couple issues that would’ve deterred me from choosing this resort. 1. Upon checking in I was told in order to have dinner in one of the restaurants, I needed reservations. I attempted to make reservation and every restaurant included in resort was booked for most of the days we were there which was upsetting. Fortunately, we were able to get into one of the restaurants but after some wait time. 2. They only provided internet access to 2 of our 3 guests and we needed to pay an extra fee for every extra guest. 3. On our last night we arrived from one of our excursions and found bugs and a cockroach in our bathroom. I called front desk to have someone check out the bugs and they refused, said they could have someone fumigate the room in the morning and refused to come check out the room. I understand that it was late but it would’ve been nice to have someone check and clean it up for us. 4. It was not very convenient to the main hotel area and a lot of water adventures are offered like parasailing or kayaking like in other beach/resort areas.

It was great Christmas getaway for my daughter and I! If you are looking to get in the water this is not the place. It water is rocky with a lot of sea grass. But the facility is wonderful! They have great pools and the staff is amazing! The food is decent as well. We really enjoyed our stay!

Hotel Marina El cid made our family’s first Cancun trip extraordinary. We had great experiences at the hotel. All three properties are easy to go with a golf cart(bigger than that). Food was good and variety options to choose. Some swimming pools are warm to swim with baby. We didn’t go to beach since we are not that fan of beach so we didn’t really care about the seaweed they have. Overall it was 8/10 experience!

The resort is good and the beach is pretty clean which you can see a lot of fish. However room service isn’t that great, I ordered two chicken nuggets and never received them. Also one of the tuna sandwich was sour. Golf carts needs to wait for awhile to get it because too many people are using it. Air conditioner controller is broken so it stays at 20 degree all the time. Dinner reservations always give you 5 pm or 9 pm options lol.

There are several checkpoints when getting into the property so it feels safe. Property is beautiful, lots of walking, and all of the nature/landscaping are gorgeous. Pools and hot tubss are great, although the one with the jumping rock is freezing. We found a heated pool after our 2nd day and stayed there. Kids club is amazing, our daughter used it twice and loved it. I accidentally left my phone there when signing her in and when i came back for it, it had been turned in to lost and found and security brought it back to me. All of the staff we encountered were very nice, friendly and helpful. Our room was bad--everything was old and it had a horrible mold smell, and a smell coming from the pipes. All of the paper that we had in the room was moist from the mold/moisture. Beds were made daily, trash taken and new towels brought but the floor was never cleaned and the tables were dirty/never wiped down before we got there. We called reception several times, once for more drinks for the room and once for transportation, and they never arrived. The food is very mediocre and options limited. We mostly had breakfast at the restaurant where the main lobby is. Buffet is very small and options limited. Lunch was also buffet style at hacienda, and they have steak and chicken they can grill for you. For dinner, restaurants usually dont answer the phone and you have to make reservations through the concierge, if there is space. There is no beach to swim, so pools are your only options.
