I recently stayed here with my family. The resort is very new and has some great features. we really liked the modern, clean rooms and the pool area was lovely and well-maintained. However, there were several areas that need improvement. First, it's disappointing that they don't have music available for every ethnicity at the pool it takes away from the fun, lively atmosphere you'd expect on vacation. There were also no drink or water stations available consistently at all times, which was inconvenient, especially under the sun. My room tag stopped working multiple times, and despite going back and forth to reception, it was never resolved properly. While the staff is generally polite, many weren’t friendly or helpful, and a few were outright rude. Compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at other resorts in Mexico, the service here didn’t match up. The beach was also not very clean during our stay, and booking reservations for dinner was difficult the website wasn’t user-friendly and there was no on-site help available. Additionally, the location is quite far from most off-resort activities. If it's your first time at an all-inclusive in Mexico, you might enjoy it more. But for those who’ve experienced other resorts, you’ll likely notice the difference in service and amenities.

Overall we had a good time but gave it 3 out of 5 due to a few issues: the room layout was a little odd with no doors between the bedroom, living and bathroom, the bathroom should have atleast had a door for privacy reasons, so it was a little awkward. The other issue was when showering the water would turn piping hot to cold every 1-2 minutes making it hard to showed, especially with little children.

Having stayed at several 5 star resorts in Mexico and specially Isla Mujeres area, this is a 3 star masked as a 5 star. Notwithstanding getting food poisoning, I have several issues with this resort: 1) The resort itself is all smoke and mirrors. It is very poorly maintained - the buildings are decrepit and falling apart. 2) Cleanliness could be improved - our curtains and balcony were filthy. However, housekeeping did a great job with the interior of the room. 3) The staff are the least friendly and most unhelpful I have encountered (at every other resort, they go above and beyond to ensure the guest has a great stay - here they couldn’t care less) 4) Finally, the pools are FREEZING cold. I couldn’t believe that a family resort allowed such a thing. Every child I saw get in the water seemed uncomfortable. My 6 month old who loves pools cried every time we tried to take him swimming.

Absolutely amazing time at Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres! The resort was clean & beautiful, the pools were gorgeous with plenty of spots for lounging including cabanas. The beach was stunning! There were always friendly servers to bring drinks no matter where you sat outside along with swim up and beach bars. I loved the aqua gym class they offered everyday and especially one of the teachers, Joe. The shows at night were pretty enjoyable, especially the Michael Jackson. We absolutely loved the food & drinks! Such a great variety of everything. The pasta at dinner and the tacos were unbelievable and my favorite was the fresh baked pastries , especially the croissants every morning. Drinks were delicious. There’s really only one thing I would suggest and that’s providing a shuttle to and from the airport. We truly enjoyed our time!
