I book this resort on Expedia and also paid the extra money for insurance went to the hotel resort. The power was out they had bedbugs. The all inclusive was not all inclusive and I asked for my money back from the resort and Expedia because I have the insurance that was supposed to cover me a full refund. I went back-and-forth with Expedia trying to get my refund back from the resort and no progress. I would not recommend anybody go there. You can’t get to the beach because it was covered with grass and algae. Expedia kept explaining that they were contacting the resort and no one would answer. It was the worst experience of my life and a total waste of money that I was not able to get back then on top of that I had to spend an extra $1800 to find a different resort and I couldn’t get back any of my money from the resort or Expedia. I couldn’t get back any money from my airfare because it was canceled and delayed, so I lost a lot of money dealing with this resort and I do not recommend anybody to ever go to that resort. They didn’t have any food or Wi-Fi and it was supposed to be all inclusive. It was nothing to do on the resort but get in the pool that is not what I paid for and I deserve a full refund.

stayed at Akuazul Resort (Adults Only) for my birthday, and it was a huge letdown. While the view was beautiful and the food and drinks were great, the rest of the experience didn’t match what was advertised. There was no airport shuttle (despite being told there would be), and the gym and other amenities were unavailable. The beach wasn’t usable due to moss and seaweed, which we weren’t warned about. Parts of the hotel were run-down and not shown in photos, and the safe felt insecure. I also had to deal with a leak under the sink that was never fixed, and streetcar noise and a hard bed made sleeping tough. Some staff were kind, but others were rude and unhelpful. We only received a late checkout for all the issues — the bare minimum. For the price, this resort isn’t worth it. Please do your research before booking. This place needs serious renovations, and until then, I can’t recommend Akuazul

The property was very eclectic, the WiFi was terrible didn’t work 95% of the time and so the tv in the room didn’t work (as it’s connected to the internet). The beach was not usable due to seaweed (not their fault) but the pool by the beach and the bar were also closed (I’m not sure why). The continental breakfast was good and the staff was friendly.

The resort itself was very pretty & peaceful overall the tarp in our backyard view kind of stole a lot of the beauty though however the smell was not , and the WiFi barely worked the entire time even for in room purchases. The tv did not work at all nor connect to the WiFi . Staff was amazing overall very helpful & friendly .

Upon our arrival at the hotel, it’s was not appealing at all, cockroach inside our room, broken chairs at the swim pool, there was no beach area at all which they said on their website. Broken walkways, wood floors are broken I almost fell down because it was not secure at all.

Property is beautiful. It has pretty cool art where you can take good pictures. Room is pretty nice, and staff it is very friendly and respectful. With that said, here are a few thinks to consider: 1. If you go during sargassum season, not the place to stay at. They don't clean it making their beach area technically not existing. 2. Stayed there for 4 nights, and had no internet during my whole stay. They said it was an issue with their provider, which sucked because it was hard to figure out where to go for dinner, trips etc. 3. The hotel lacks maintenance. Big part of hotel had no accessa to guest because the paths were in such a bad shape. It did not seem like they were currently working to fix them either. 4. If you want to sit at the bar and have a few drinks at night time, you will have to leave the hotel. Pool bar closes at 5:00 PM 5. Continental breakfast is average. You get fruit, and get to pick between french toast, toast, or pancake. They are good but repetitive after been there for a few days. They also try to get you to order from their a la carte menu, but was a bit over priced for what you get. Chalaquiles were about 18USD. 6. If you are looking to stay here and go to cenotes/beach outside of hotel, bring your own towels. They will NOT provide you with towels for outside use. Hotel has great potential, but currently it is in bad shape.

The property had nice scenery. Many photo ops. Staff was great but wifi was down entire stay. Couldnt watch any tv after a night out. Rooftop bar speaker was broken so no music there. Pool was very nice . For a Continental breakfast i expected more like atleast eggs but you get a plate of fruit and toast, one pancake or french toast. Only but you can pay for their other options and the food was great.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It is not like the typical resort but it is definitely a good vibe. Staff is nice and helpful and made our stay really good. The reviews on here do say that there is a lot of noise at night which there is because the hotel is next to Main Street but after 12 AM, I did not hear too much noise and was able to sleep good. They have a safe provided for you to leave stuff that you wanna keep safe. It does smell fishy, but that's just part of it being by the shore. This resort is more of a shore type of resort because it is not the actual beach you have access to it's more of the shore. It is still quite pleasant. There is some damage to some things but nothing that would make you not enjoy your time here, the pools are maintained clean. Food was good at the restaurant. Drinks were good nice relaxing time. Easy to get Uber and Uber eats. The only thing not related to this resort day was some of my activities that I had scheduled would not come pick us up at this hotel but they would make us go to the residence Inn, which is a one minute Uber ride or 12 min walk. Definitely would return and recommend if you want something more relaxed with not too much people.

The property decor is beautiful. The beach is a bit run down but it is still very beautiful. There is a gut wrecking smell walking over to the beach but luckily the beach does not smell. Unfortunately, my room was not clean upon check in. There was stains under the covers and an old envelope addressed to someone else left on the table. The staff were friendly and my room did get properly cleaned. The toilet stopped flushing my last night and since I was about to leave, I did not bother trying to get it fixed. There is no phone in the room so all requests have to be made at the hotel entrance. You can hear the street from the bedroom, but as a New Yorker, it did not affect me or my rest. The hotel is a convenient location to Cancun’s airport and Cancun’s hotel zone which is only an uber ride away. Complementary breakfast tatse good but is only a few light options so be prepared to order more food to actually get full. This is a nice place to stay for a very short and convenient get away.
