Good things: - 1 - staff were kind - many thanks 2- food was hot and delicious 3 - lounge and dining area was comfortable 4 - room was good 5 - swimming pool was nice Things we didn't like:- 1- Parking space is limited, tight for cars bigger than Corsa/Fiesta. 2- floor board squeaky 3 - swimming pool changing area floor was dirty, lockers were horrible, don't work. 4 - the kettle on the room was dirty.

The hotel was great for cleanliness, the room was great for what we needed with a nice touch left for our dog who came with us, the staff were very polite, the food was really good. We had a really lovely weekend, but….. the one downfall, we found was, when they say ‘pet friendly’ really the hotels should provide what facilities cannot be used. We were ‘not’ allowed to use the bar OR the restaurant. We were put into a snug/small lounge area for drinks, so felt very out of it for atmosphere. We were the only ones in there. They provided a small table and chairs in there, for our evening meal, where again we felt very out of it for atmosphere. You go away to gain atmosphere. Which was such a shame, as cannot see why the bar with wooden floors, were not allowed for dog owners, like a lot of places. On the plus side, the meal and food service was excellent.

Hotel is nice for what we paid . Loved the swimming pool.. building is little tired but very clean and I would stay again . Beds very comfy .. no socket near bed and the shower soap was empty which was frustrating while showering.. over very all nice and friendly hotel for price

Small room, which is a little bit need of tlc - bath panel broken, grout needs a clean. Remote control grim - looks like it had never been cleaned...not sure tea spoons clean either. Overall for business stay so be it but not for a personal holiday type stay.

Room 16 was recently renovated and at the front of the property. Very spacious and light. Lack of products in the bathroom, and nowhere to put toiletries let it down considering the price. The spa was nice but the pool was cold. Staff were lovely and friendly

Nice place to stay for families

Nice clean family room, exactly as the pictures showed, perfectly functional room. Nice breakfast, served until 10 , which is nice if you’re a bit lazy in the morning! Great location, bang in the middle of town , 10 mins walk to the castle, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The bar prices were quite steep (£7.35 a pint!!) but the cocktails were reasonably priced. There’s plenty of options in town. The jewel in the crown for this hotel is the pool area. It’s really wonderful, beautifully tiled, nice and big, we were there during half term and it wasn’t too busy. We really liked library aswell, very cosy with its big setees

Disappointed when we first arrived to be given a room with scaffolding outside the window which was noisy due to the wind, the lady at reception quickly obliged us with another room, so many thanks to her for a restful and enjoyable stay...

Noisy and dated!

Hotel is lovely if a bit dated. Bed mattress had seen better days as when lying on it you hit the hard boards. Room was ok but extremely noisy as it must have been above the boiler room! Staff were very friendly and helpful.
