The Essex Resort & Spa offers 120 accommodations with iPod docking stations and safes. Each accommodation is individually furnished and decorated. The spa, pool, and hot tub were excellent. The room was clean and well stocked. However, I stayed in a “luxury” 1 bedroom suite and there was no where comfortable to sit. There was one small 2 seater couch that was very worn down and uncomfortable. I was hoping to sit cozily in front of the fireplace but that couch was bad. There was plenty of unused space … I suspect there used to be a comfortable chair there!

The ac unit in my room seemed to malfunction and dropped the temp in my room to 45 degrees. Was able to shut it off and eventually get the room back to a normal temperature. Overnight staff was polite and helpful but couldn't resolve the technical issues with the system.

A little disappointed to find out the best restaurant was closed on the days we were there. The food at the pub was surprisingly good tho. The spa service seemed nice but they did screw up my booking a couple times. Hotel did go out of their way and gave a very good discount. I would stay again.

The pool, hot tub, sauna were wonderful on a snowy weekend. The room was spacious and clean. The restaurant had a great menu and the bar had a lot of local beer on tap. It was close to Burlington and to Bolton Valley Ski Resort. The staff was friendly. One thing I would change would be the bed. Our room had a very firm bed and it didn’t have real sheets so they kept moving around which made it difficult to get a good nights sleep.
