I specifically chose this property for its pool, as it was a key feature for the kids. Upon check-in, I was informed that the pool was out of service and would remain closed during our stay. The compensation offered was a mere $12 worth of Hilton Honors points, which is deeply disappointing given the inconvenience.

Our stay was fine. The accommodations were adequate to allow all of us to have a spot to sleep. The bathroom and room were clean. The staff was amazingly kind and friendly and helpful.

First we were given keys to a room that someone else was already in. They were also surprised when we tried to enter their room. Then we we're given a smaller room than we paid for. We were on level 5 which the hallway stunk like marijuana. It's supposed to be non smoking rooms. We were charged for an executive King room when we are in just a regular room. I'm very disappointed, frustrated and slightly angry.

Disappointing. Rooms are poorly ventilated and were either too hot or very humid and full of condensation. Stayed 3 nights and had no room service at all, not even a towel change and had to ask for more clean towels. Apparently room service is offered every other day but this was not the case for us. Odd. Beds are soft, pillows lumpy. Pool area is icky and so much water accumulation due to poor drainage and no one cleans up. Breakfast is very basic but does the job. I have zero desire to stay here again.

We booked an executive room with king bed and sofa bed. It was 15$ more than the two double beds room. The person at the fromt desk said nothing. We arrived in the room and there was only one bed (we were with our 12 yrs daughter). We had to go back to the front desk and showed the paper with the reservation. The employee told us that there were no executive rooms available. He asked us to wait (i.e. 25 minutes) so another employee (concierge?) can show us another room. It was a room with 2 double beds (not queen beds). He told us that it was all they had. Our short holiday were unpleasant. We are used to sleep in a king bed at home… a full bed is only 54 inches wide. My husband told me that we shouldn’t book with Expedia when it comes to hotel chains. He told me after that he has a Hilton card and that I should have booked directly on their website. I hope that Expedia will reimburse the 15$/day that I paid for the executive room. I also want to know if it is true that the booking description (type of room) is not warranty when you book on Expedia.

Comfortable and helpful
2 night stay was great for me, husband found the bed too soft and low water pressure in shower and sink. Enjoyed the breakfast. Margie checked in on us and Alison helped find a cell phone forgotten in the room when we checked out. Quickly too! Definitely will consider another stay in Colchester during the summer, if the new President will allow Canadians to visit.
