We didn’t expect a lot due to previous reviews, and price, but we were so pleased with this hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The gentleman on reception spoke excellent English, and the waiting staff were so polite! The room is basic, but exceptionally clean and functional. We had a disabled room that catered to our needs and requests 100%. The room was comfy and warm (it was -7° outside)! The bed SO comfy and lovely pillows. Also ample parking (including disabled parking).I've left the best till last: THE FOOD! Well what can we say, absolutely devine! You would expect the same at a 5☆ restaurant! We travel a LOT through Europe and have never experienced this standard of cuisine without paying through the nose. We will 100% stay again, if not just for the Staff service and food!
Without doubt the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. We got up early so we could leave asap. The room smelled bad of mould. Dirty brown carpet. A spring mattress which felt damp when you lay on it. The bathroom was meh. The window had an outside shutter that couldn't be opened because there was no curtains. So the room was in permanent darkness. It didn't feel very safe as there was premier classe hotel just facing us, and the resident looked like they were permanently living there. Lots of guys hanging out on balconies. We were glad we had a dog with us. The receptionist was okay for check in, she spoke English to us. But the receptionist on leaving was very rude. I guess she didn't want any interaction with un satisfied customers. We didn't get breakfast because the place stank everywhere. So in closing, if you're driving and stuck for a place to stay, just sleep in your car on the side of the road, it would be more comfortable.

Not usual standard for this hotel group.
On arrival, a rather sharp lady, ‘yes!’ No other greeting. I had driven hundreds of miles and was very tired( 80 hears old).
Menu limiting due to the structure of choices. I chose a plat but could not have a desert. Wine chosen was not available yet on the menu card. Had to request water.
Only one large towel in the bathroom.
Disappointing overall.
An excellent stop over hotel on my journey from Manchester to Burgundy. Room was clean and quiet and restaurant served good quality food at a reasonable rate. Would use again.
Hotel experience was great ...
But ... I booked a family room (2 adults and 2 children) with Expedia and the hotel only had a room for 3 (2 adults and 1 child) booked in my name; I had tried to confirm my booking with Expedia but never got a reply - the hotel had also sent an email to Expedia realising there was a discrepancy but they also never received a reply .... Very poor customer service from Expedia.

Complete face lift from last year, excellent place to stay. I have used this Campanile on all my journey's to the South of France & will continue to stay.
Also stay on return journey.
My son also stays on his journey south.
perfectly adequate hotel and good restaurant. Expedia booking was in error (I booked for 2 adults and 3 children) and we had to purchase extra room, this is a known issue with Expedia that the Hotel have raised with them. If booking for over 3 you must get an extra room. I have also emailed Expedia about this.
