Lovely, comfortable room - bathroom was very tiny though. Esa at check-in was extremely helpful, polite and friendly. So were all the other staff. Very good breakfast (loved the white cloth and matching cutlery). Location is very good - right next to the main square and yet away from all the rush. Overall, very good but also a bit pricey.

Fantastic hotel in a great location
The hotel was beautiful situated in a great location in walking distance from Bruges market. On arrival the staff were extremely friendly and this continued throughout our stay. The room was small but ideal for a 2 night stay in the city. The room and bathroom was clean and we were provided with coffee facilities and toiletries. The hotel was in a great location abouts 15 minutes from both the markets and station. The hotel bar was very cosy and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend!

Just arrived home from a weekend away in Bruges. This hotel was in a great location being only a short walk away from the Center of Bruges, perfect for those wishing to visit the Christmas markets at this time of the year. Although the hotel car park was full there was a large safe and secure car park only 100 meters away for a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and the lobby was warm and welcoming although the public toilets smelt awful. The hotel overall had quite a dated decor but I think this added to the charm or staying in Bruges. The breakfast was great with lots of choices to suit anyone’s taste, and I particularly liked the decor in there too. The rooms were clean and beds were comfy, however the pillows were rather lumpy. The pool was a great addition for those who like a dip, however could have been cleaner. Overall we had a great weekend but could do without the smell of toilets down the corridors and in the elevators.

Our bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly on arrival. The window did not close or lock. It was reported to reception and we were told "Thanks, we will do a deep clean of your room today", and the room never got cleaned. The hotel smelt horrible in our corridor, and the overpowering smell of chemicals from the pool was disgusting. The welcoming staff were lovely, and the breakfast staff very attentive and helpful, but sadly the quality of the hotel lets them down. A very noisey hotel also, where you could hear people above and outside the rooms, the lift at night, and the washing machines going all night from the laundry.

Good .. but wont go back
Got there and there was no parking even though it was stated as designated .. you have to reserve and then its 25 euros a night ... so we used a car park. This wasnt the hotels fault but rather the agents. Next morning our toilet started bubbling and burping which bought small amounts of feaces back up and it also smelt. Went to reception and asked for cleaning materials to use before we used it because of spatter as i knew they couldnt rip the whole sewage system up to rememdy the problem... hotel was also full. They were helpful enough but offered nothing by way of myself becoming a cleaner for 3 days ... even a bottle of plonk on leaving would have been a gesture... but there was no apology that i had to do that etc. Which is why i wont use this hotel again. But its a good location and the breakfast was amazing. Staff were generaly polite and freindly. It was just the loo issue ... which was actually a pretty serious one.. of which i have videos ... but was handled wrong. If this hadnt happened this hotel would be my go to for brugge

Check out was at 11 but none of the materials given said that and there was no phone in the room, so i could not call to ask. Im from the US and waking up even at 1100 is early for me. A clerk was upset when i checked out at 1200 and threatened to charge extra but a nice clerk intervened. Also the room was too hot even with the heating off.

We had a lovely long, family weekend in Bruges, staying at Grand Hotel Normandy. The hotel was excellent, the family room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed using the swimming pool and the gym. Our children loved playing chess and connect 4 in the really nice, reception bar.

Superb hotel.
We loved Grand Normandy Hotel. The lobby is great as there is a connect 4 and chess board while waiting. There is a bar with a good range of drinks as well, and the staff are incredibly helpful and positive. The breakfast is magic. Best hotel breakfast I've had in Europe. Nice touch with the free sweets in and around the hotel and the complimentary biscuits when we left. The swimming pool is warm and there are plenty of towels and loungers. We will definitely be back to Bruges and the Grand Normandy!
