Considering this is one of Brightons 'flagship' hotels, we were a little undewhelmed. Service in the bar was very slow and unpersonal. Then, when we went to bed there was an awful vibrating coming from the wall at the head of the bed. We asked to change rooms for the night, which we did, but no mention of this was made when we checked out. Overall we were rather disappointed with our stay

Generally a good clean and safe place to day next to the seaside. The issue is the rather less than friendly front of house. Maybe it’s the abrupt nature and delivery of conversation that marked me , but for this price one expects a more pleasant service. London prices but maybe not London service

The Grand is an iconic hotel with lots of character, but is now looking a little tired in places…chipped paint, thick layers of paint, dented wood / door frames, worn carpets (in high traffic areas), dated bathrooms..etc, hence there is a multi million pound refurbishment plan in place…to bring it back into the spotlight as the top hotel in Brighton. But the rooms are of good size, huge beds, everything is of good quality and the staff are excellent, from the very curtious door staff to the breakfast crew. We have been coming here for years and particularly like the atmosphere at Christmas, with the enormous Christmas tree and decorated spiral bannister…

The hotel lived up to its name; lovely recently refurbished room overlooking the sea. Staff were so helpful and accommodating. We had half board and the menu in the restaurant was excellent. Definitely one to return to.

It was easy, and convenient. The door man was lovely, concierge very efficient. Room a little tired, I understand a refurb is underway, but lovely and clean. Nice to have valet parking. Would stay again.
