Hotel good - restaurant poor

Overall the room and facilities (gym, sauna etc) really good…. The restaurant service however was shocking. Was waiting ages to be seen to be taken to a table… then waited ages for a menu to be given. Then waited ages to be served. Food and drink took a long time to come, my food came before my drink (crazy)… I don’t believe there were enough waiters/staff, the two guys where running around all over the place trying to keep all tables happy - place was too busy for the number of waiters on.

No milk in rooms to have with coffee. Coffee cups too small (espresso cups but no espeesso coffee!) Noisy as airport is getting busier each time we stay. Check-in slow as hotel is busy and not enough staff.

The hotel was very nice, but the airport shuttle pickup location was not clearly marked and the pickup vehicle was not marked with Mercure on the front or left side where you could see it. The town was small with not much to do and no direct link to Basel. I regretted that we didn’t stay in Basel because at the Swiss exit of the airport there was a local bus ( number 50) that went up the Basel train station. In summary, the hotel was very good but location and transportation were not.

Great hotel located very close to the Basel airport. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great hotel for a 1-night stay after a long flight into Basel and then off for a European vacation.

This was a clean and quiet hotel near the airport. Free transportation to and from the airport was great.Only draw back is that there is not much around as far as dining and shopping.
