Ok stay

We came down for the night and heard great things. I don’t know if it’s a normal thing or not but the hotel was packed. There were multiple birthday parties which led to lots of children (ones that were unsupervised and had no awareness of personal space) and loud late night screaming in the halls at 11:30am. Breakfast was good! Pool was a good temperature but

Past Its Prime?

It was very average. The property is a bit past its prime, or perhaps they aren’t trying quite hard enough. Mattress a bit saggy, pool area not quite clean, halls smelled a bit of weed, non-smoking room smelled of lingering cigarette smoke, inadequate seating in breakfast area. Looks unique and fancy, but they need to maintain it.

The hotel was still under some construction. It wasn’t a bad hotel at all, but there was a lot of things that needed to be fixed. The sauna did not work, even though it was listed as an amenity. The hot tub was definitely too hot. Our room was very rough the doors shut rough door handles were very loose. Beds were very uncomfortable. Needs updating

The Chateau is charming. We love the antique deco in the place. Very clean; very comfortable; very friendly. This was our first time here. We pass through Bloomington twice a year, and now plan to make this our regular stopping place. So glad we found it.

Fire place in our room did not work. Tv in our room had no cable service. I booked the room for two people, our coffee station had one coffee bean pack not the end of the world so I figured I would go downstairs and get a cup during breakfast. The coffee at breakfast was reheated in the brew pot and burnt tasting, undrinkable. Most of the food tins were empty(eggs,potatoes etc) an hour and a half before they shut it down. I stay here quite a bit and was pretty disappointed this time. By the way I have had the same room a couple times in the past, the cable tv situation was the same. I have seen a downhill pattern in my last few stays here, I may be staying elsewhere next time. New bar looks nice.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was pretty good, several options, eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, poptarts, cereal, orange juice. The mattress was not that great, but I slept alright.

Not worth the discounted price

We found mouse poop on our floor. Breakfast was greasy and the orange juice tasted terrible. Baked goods were barely edible.
