We completed the online check-in and requested an early check-in, and we received an email confirming that the room was available. However, when we arrived around 12:30 PM, we were told that an extra fee was required. Then, the front desk staff asked if we were with the wedding party. When we said we were not, her manager told her that early check-in was not allowed for anyone outside the wedding group. I understand that early check-in is not guaranteed, but my suggestion is to avoid telling guests that it is available when it is not, as this can be misleading. That said, we were glad to be able to store our bags at the front desk until check-in time at 3 PM.

Hyatt Place is my first choice of places to stay when I’m away from home. On Sunday May 4th around 2AM in the morning my 20 year old son went down to the lobby to sit and was told by the staff on duty, that he was not allowed to be in the lobby. We reached out to the manager ant 8AM, and she stated she would address the issue. We told her that we would follow up with her outcome on the discipline action plan. We’ve called and left messages several times for the manager to no avail. We are of African descent. Thank you for your time.
