The staff checking us in were friendly and upgraded us to a room with an ocean view. When we discovered the AC didn't work in our room, they responded immediately and moved us to the room next door - still with an ocean view and a lovely room. The rooms are small but efficient with dresser space and plenty of electric outlets. The bathrooms are spacious and lovely. The hotel has been nicely renovated still retaining the original flavor of the building. It is located on the beach and also in town near restaurants and shops. Housekeeping staff were also friendly and helpful.

The room was so small you couldn’t open the door without hitting the night stand. There were rats outside in the lounging/eating space. Also, the walls were so thin we could hear everything in the neighboring rooms and hallways. It wasn’t a TERRIBLE stay but the experience definitely did not match the price point of the hotel.

No elevator and no one to carry heavy suitcase up steep stairs, pull shade was broken in room, loud party right outside room til almost midnight. AC didn’t work in either of our rooms. Reception area had old ripped couches, one was stained. Bathroom was updated at least!!

Employees were very helpful. One suggestion i have is to provide a microwave at the coffee station or in the cafe. Also the pool was too hot. It felt like a hot tub , so it was not comfortable to actually swim. A good temperature would be 84-88 degrees F. We were in room 126. The bed was tilted so that the head end was lower than the foot end. This was uncomfortable. It looked like they tried to fix the problem with books under the bed posts, but it still is not enough. It would also be really helpful to have a small shelf or table on the door side of the bed and more hooks. Overall, it was a very nice place.

Place was nice in off season. Room was small. Bathroom was roomy nice shower. Beach front view was nice except for the big pipe vent in view. Staff was friendly has no access to ice and water as stated in amenities. Would not stay here again.

Great stay with amazing staff! Had a wardrobe emergency moments before our taxi was coming to take us to a wedding and one of the staff went out of her way to locate some safety pins that saved the day! Everyone we interacted with was so nice and helpful. The location of the hotel also can’t be beat.

It is a nice hotel but the rooms are small. We had a convenience bar outside the room for water, ice, coffee, etc. the bar was practical but noisy as others used it. The staff was cordial but not overly personable. The outside bar was gorgeous! The beach set up is perfect- towels and everything else you need are right there on the beach. They have a foot shower too! The cushions on the outdoor furniture needed a refresh and were very tired and weathered. Lastly, we arrived after Labor Day and through no fault of the hotel, they were losing staff daily and short staffed in general.

So many adjectives could describe the Block Island Beach House - love love loved it! The location to the beach, the beautifully remodeled rooms and bathrooms, the porch and more. Loved our stay on the island, and hope to come back in the future. Two days definitely was not enough island time!
