Bad communication bordering on false advertising
I booked this hotel specifically because it had airport transfer. Shortly after booking, I contacted the hotel (via hotels.com app) saying that I would be getting in on the red-eye flight on Dec 3, and would like to pre-arrange airport-hotel transport for the late flight.
I heard nothing from them. I (il-advisedly) figured that no news was good news, and that I'd just call when I wasn't paying international rates.
When I arrived in the US (on the day I was to stay), I called to confirm the airport transfer. "Oh" they said. "our airport transport is only from 8:00am to 8:00pm."
Nowhere was this communicated on the website. Neither did they get back to my message enquiring about it.
When I then asked what my options were, they said taxi or uber. A taxi was $40 (for a 6min ride), so I booked an Uber (which said it would be $15-20). The uber never showed.
So I was stuck at the airport in the middle of the night without a way to get to the hotel.
In the end, I got accommodation somewhere else that DID have airport transport that included all flights.
I had to forfeit the money (about $90) I'd paid to Bismarck Hotel and Conference Center because their cancellation window was within 24 hours.
