for a 4 star hotel very poor, usually stay at raddisons, no water in rooms, very basic facilities. taps leaking and not very clean. in the morning woken by cleaners having a mothers meeting outside in the corridor followed by hovering and backing on door with the hover. complained at check out and actually pretty poor to get no acknowledgment.

Cannot fault the experience from check in, accommodations and dining service. Our expectations were well and truly exceeded. We wanted to use the wet spa but unfortunately on both occasions we tried to book (24 hours apart) there was no availability.

Always impressed at Malmaison hotels, unfortunately our room 435, had the noisiest AirCon ever. We could not stay the whole night as we had to leave early due to an emergency. I notified reception on our departure. Some of the decor was also showing signs of wear but overall, good hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and it never disappoints. We were greeted at reception with a friendly welcome and dealt with efficiently. To help with sustainability we opted for no room service during our 2night stay and received a complimentary drink in the bar on both evenings. The barman was lovely, again friendly and welcoming. Our room was lovely and very quiet which was a huge positive given how busy the centre of Birmingham is. The Mal Maison is in an ideal location for the Mailbox ease of parking, restaurants and shopping. It is also just a short walk into the main shopping area around the Bullring. Overall once again a great experience at this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend a stay, we will return.
