Loved Coombe Abbey, it was our first visit and we would definetly go again. The hotel and surrounding grounds (country park) were lovely and the staff highly welcoming. There were a few niggles with the room (shower leaked a tad) but nothing that would put us off visiting again.
If i had one criticism its that the restaurant doesnt open until 7pm which personally was a bit later to eat than we'd have liked but thats really all i can come up with, over all its a beautiful country hotel and would definitely recommend for a couples break!
What a cool building. Very gothic inside. Quite eclectic. Reminded me of a theme park hotel. Great service. Particularly the lass who manned the outdoor bar. Great! Reappy couldn’t have asked for any more for the price. Actually wowed by this place. Well done.
A truly unbelievable place. Perfect location and great breakfast. So much history to this place! It was very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. A slightly haunted vibe but nothing sinister. It’s one of the only places I’ve experienced something which I couldn’t explain. Great walks round the grounds and an amazing lake and bird hide to relax in. This place is possibly our favourite hotel in England:)

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Very friendly staff but the rooms are tired and need upgrading Taps were loose, showers not working properly etc.
Rooms could be better supplied, there was a fancy box for tissues but only one tissue for show!
Only one coffee bag supplied.
Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms however some of the rooms are looking a bit tired. We had room 128 a feature room. It was comfortable, bright and had a wonderful view from the bed.
We had dinner in the restaurant and we all found the food very tasty and well done. Overall a fantastic stay.
Everything fantastic ,couldn't fault anything ..Will certainly stay there again...

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Fantastic looking hotel and the grounds absolutely stunning. Paid extra for a feature double and didn't feel we got much extra. Room was large but so stuffy and hot with only small windows and an ineffective fan. The room itself was tired and in need of updating
Breakfast was served in a lovely restaurant but disappointed that plates weren't hot and food generally was a bit average for such a stunning hotel.
We will return but will go for standard double rooms and go out for breakfast
Pro’s: Beautiful historic building in picturesque setting.
One exceptionally helpful and kind member of staff who couldn’t do enough for her guests..
Con’s: The decor in the bedrooms need a really good refresh, peeling paint, grubby appearance, spoils the otherwise lovely rooms. We had three rooms and all three desperately needed some love and care.
One exceptionally bored and unhelpful receptionist who made no effort to help or answer enquiries.
No cash accepted anywhere in the hotel.
All guests were charged for parking, which given the rural location was unnecessary and gave off a negative and money grabbing vibe.
I really enjoyed my time at coombe abbey. This was my second time staying there and I really couldn’t be more pleased with the service provided by staff. The only complaint I could make is the wifi and the lack of an ironing board in my room although I suspect if I had asked for one I would have gotten one.
