Well where do I start? First when we arrived the outside of the hotel was not appealing at all, it looked like it was part of a dump, we checked in and asked for late check out which was until 1pm for a fee of £15 which we paid. We then made our way to our room and the smell of the corridors was awful. It smelt like a sewer and the carpets looked old and outdated. We then arrived to our room which was of a good size however in the bathroom our toilet paper was wet and the shower water was not of a consistent temperature it kept switching from hot to cold. The next morning, the day we were due to check out at 1pm, we received a knock on the door at 9:30am from the cleaner asking to clean, which does not make any sense as the check in time is from 3pm so when we checked out at 1pm the cleaners had 2 hours to clean in that time. So i told the cleaners no and we are checking out at 1pm to which he did not understand and said “no cleaning?” I said no. A couple hours later at 11:30am we received another knock on our door from one of the staff members saying we needed to check out at 11am. We explained that we have paid extra for late check out, obviously this had not been communicated or noted on their system. So we had to explain this to them and they went down to check. Overall, awful experience will never book again.

Clean but very tired hotel, communal areas smelt funny and there was no heating at all in the room so was freezing. Shower was nice though.

The hotel is in the heart of the pedestrian shopping centre, minutes from the Bull Ring. The canal, Chinese Quarter and Jewellery Quarter are within walking distance.

The only thing that let my experience down was the bar was closed, and the bar was closed for what feels like a very long time the restaurant didn't seem like a real restaurant.

Desperately needs work, the corridors and stairwells are filthy, my shower was blocked, no mug or spoon to make a drink, I had to ask. The place is in desperate need of a face lift. One night was enough. Some work is going on but the place is dated and it feels like it.

Although the staff were lovely. We booked a standard triple room and were first sent to a double room. Then told there were no triple rooms available for our first night. As only 2 of us were staying the first night we accepted a twin room - didn’t seem completely finished. No hot water in the morning. Were told it would be sorted as we agreed to stay in that room as our third couldn’t make the trip. Were assured throughout the day that the water would be sorted. Still no hot water the next morning. No restaurant or bar due to refurbishment- not told at booking, checking in or on the website. Have sent an email to customer services but had no response. Wouldn’t stay here again sadly as it is in a perfect spot for the Christmas markets.
