this used to be a nice hotel ! That being said, when we checked in and got settled pulled back the covers and the bottom sheet was blood strained. Got a new room ant the tv didn't work. Got another room. it was ok. not great. dust and carpet could be replaced. will not be staying at this property anymore.

Need a checklist for readying the room
Room was ok although at the farthest end from the breakfast room but at least close to the outside door. There was no remote for the TV in the room. Rather than send someone with a remote, had to go clear to the office and get one that did not even work. Went again and got another one that still did not work. They ended up moving me to another room although now further from the outside door.

Worst hotel in Billings
The first room I was given was not ready, so the next room I was given smelled of urine and didn't look clean at all. The third, mind you I gave them one last chance, the heater didn't work and a cold front was coming in. With each issue I was informed that a manager would be reaching out to me, and it has been over a week and a half and I have yet to hear from any manager from that property. I figured that Howard Johnson would be, as it has been for years, a trusted place to stay. This one IS NOT! CLEAN IT UP AND ACTUALLY HAVE SYMPATHY FOR YOUR GUESTS WHEN YOU UNDER PERFORM!

Wont take my kids back...
Checked into a normal room i paid for a sweet. I complained they gave us a new room. Same style and size room inly the sweet had a couch. Found a pair of sunglasses by the iron, the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. Window sills had mold on them. We found a half eaten brown moldy apple under the bed. One of the hot tubs had a broken timer switch and the hot tub didnt work correctly. The second hot tub was fine. We also found a broken tile in the pool and there were kids in the pool under 5 years old who didnt have parents. We had to sit there for over an hour waiting on another parent to take over watching someone elses kids. The people behind the desk was the best part of the trip. They were nice and attentive. The hotel as a whole we wont be staying there again.

I wished I had read the reviews before we stayed at three in the morning there were other guests yelling outside our room fighting because of a cheating partner I assume went on for twenty min and since I didn’t call the cops the staff was extremely rude and mocking. I will never stay at another Howard Johnson especially this one in billings. It was dirty and trashy

My room window had a literal bullet hole in it…When I was leaving, the staff came banging on my door to tell me it was after 11, time to check out, but then then some 711 type guy probably owner I’m guessing , tells staff to call the police. And he walks in my room and starts asking me questions. Like who was all staying there, why I have so many bags, etc. just weird stuff that wasn’t any of his business. He tells me that they’re calling the cops because of the “traffic” I had. I had legit no one at the room other than me. The room wasn’t clean, the location was flooded with drug users and drunks in the hallways, and the staff was aweful. Also, the breakfast was so bad I wouldn’t even feed it to a dog. If the choice is between staying here or your car, I’d pick the car every time. Overall unpleasant experience and won’t ever return

For the price--decent
Room was clean, bed comfy, plenty of towels in the bathroom--nice soap, shampoo, etc. samples. Food was average, but the waffles are always nice. Not very many choices. pool area seemed to be in need of some maintenance --1 hot tub was out of commission, the other was decent, but didn't seem to have all the jets working. The sauna didn't work. The pool was nice and larger than most, with a stunning slide for kids to have fun on. Towels in the pool area seemed to be more hand towel size than adult sized.

This place would be a great choice for young families with Children with budget in mind it is affordable and has a great pool area plus a full, well stocked, complementary breakfast. The property is a bit unkempt from the outside, and I’m not real sure about the area, Let’s just say I wouldn’t go walking alone after dusk. There were several other Hotels in the area in a similar price range that looked like they had better maintenance. Conveniently located right by the freeway

Our first room they gave us wasn't even clean then next room had hair in tub floor didn't look like it was clean there was some sort of gold paint on window. I had my service dog an after we left they try charge us 250 for my dog hair on bed then try to say it was the garbage which was in trash can an a box. The guy then said we trashed the room we asked for the proof he hung up on us. They keep trying to charge our cards.
