The hotel is classic. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was plentiful. It is bery conveniently located in all directions to shopping, eating and the docks. The neighborhood though was quiet and felt safe

Easy to find as it’s a 10min walk from the tram straight from the airport. Welcoming staff. We had a recently upgraded room but the temperature control is non-existent. We were there during the festival so it was wedged but the restaurant more or less managed. It would be good if Scandic rated the quality of each hotel as we’d come from the Holberg in Oslo and it was not in the same league. Many of the less than positive reviews are worth reading.

Negatives: 1. We were allocated a Double "Accessible" room despite having requested for a Superior Twin room (pre-booked and reiterated on arrival). 2. Check-in at 16:00 - later than the standard 15:00 so had to wait in a queue. 3. Unable to connect to Wifi until a second Front Desk staff member provided alternative password. The first staff had no idea! 4. Our Superior Room had no air-conditioning and as it was hot, thankfully, a fan was made available. It didn't help as there was also NO Fridge nor a guest Ice-making machine. 5. Bathroom - no bath mat provided, nor were there any hooks to hang towels or clothes. 6. Tea/coffee - no spoon provided to stir beverage. 7. On our last day, as we were leaving at 07:30 and their breakfast restaurant only opened at 07:30, we had to pick up a 'Breakfast to Go' (no offer of delivery to room!). The provisions were adequate for a light snack (fruit, 2 slices of bread, slice of ham & cheese, mayo, small tube of fish paste & butter but NO utensils provided). How were we expected to butter our bread? When we went down to Reception to ask for a knife, the staff on duty couldn't provide one. Obviously, a huge shortage of utensils!

The staff was great. The breakfast was the best ever- truly outstanding. The room was a nice size. Our room faced the street and it was noisy all night long. The location was good in the city, we could get anywhere easily. Highly recommend- bring earplugs if traffic bothers your sleep.

Just ok- get what you pay for

Honestly I would not stay here again. The outlet situation isn't great (add some extension cords at least near the beds). The breakfast ran out of stuff and was not replenished. If you're going to offer a breakfast during a time frame, it should be offered the whole time. The location is fantastic, close to the action, the bus line and the train station. Lobby people were very polite and professional. Biggest let down was I booked this mid trip to do laundry and was told they do not have laundry.

We had a suite which was a good size, it had a separate seating/lounge area to bedroom so we were able to space out which was great. The bathroom was equally a good size and room amenities worked. The hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to most parts of the city including the port (Bergen isn't a huge city anyway). The breakfast was perfect for us as well, nice selection and good quality. Only downside was our room was really hot, after I arrived I turned off the radiators and we had the doors open when we were there to cool it down. Also the balcony lights remained on overnight with no ability to switch off, curtains didn't completely keep all the light out. Overall, great, clean, hotel to stay in at the heart of Bergen with friendly, helpful staff.

Scandic Neptun is perfectly located—an easy walk to the harbor, Bryggen, and lots of great food and beer spots. The breakfast was excellent with a big variety and fresh options. Our room faced the inner courtyard, so no view—just other rooms across—but it was quiet and comfortable. Overall, a solid base for exploring Bergen!

Really disappointing room. No coffee maker in room or kettle. No phone in room as was told that hotel is phasing phones out because ‘everyone’ has a cell phone. A foreign visitor with no local connection has no way to make emergency or housekeeping calls. Floors appeared uncleaned for a longtime as they got stuck with our shoes. Bathroom had no basic supply like lotions, shower cap & floor mat.

The check in experience was not nice at all. The receptionist was borderline unfriendly and definitely seemed like she didn't care to make us feel welcome or have a nice experience. When we got to our room (which actually looked very nice), we discovered that it didn't have hot water. Lukewarm at best. We went back to reception, who swapped us to another room on the same floor. We went there and it was the same. Then we were swapped to a 3rd room on another floor, which had hot water. During the whole time the receptionist cooperated but wasn't nice at all. The room we ended up in was much smaller and was less equipped than the first room we went into. Additionally, the bathroom had a funky smell that never went away, even after we stayed there 3 nights and the powered vent worked for a long time. The room also missed the tea/coffee making set (kettle, cups, teaspoons, coffee & tea) and it took more than one request to receive all of that - again, giving us the feeling we were a burden. In general it felt like this room wasn't properly prepared for guests and was handed out as an emergency response with no follow up. On the positive side, the buffet breakfast (was included in our deal) was very good.
