Our two-night stay at the Hampton Inn was pleasant. It was very clean and well maintained. If there was anything that would have taken it ‘over the top’, it would have been a more friendly staff! The young man on the registration desk on the evening we registered, about 8:30 pm on Sunday, October 20, was charming, friendly, courteous and interested in our drive from Cambridge. That was the first and last time we saw or heard from a friendly face! The front desk staff just ignored everyone who passed by (often the front desk was NOT staffed) as well as anyone else we encountered in the hotel. I know that time is money to a business, but we would try another local hotel before returning to the Hampton…..even though we were very happy with the comfort and cleanliness. A smile or a quick hi should be automatic in the hospitality industry.
