Delayed but not forgotten

Staff were great and attentive to our needs. We arrived a few minutes early, was checked in but, could not to our room because of a problem that was repaired. The staff made sure we understood what was happening in real time. It was suggested we have a drink in the restaurant which is very nice, located on the 5th floor with a view of the ocean. In a very short while our room key was brought to us and luggage was already delivered to our room. The hotel is very clean and staff very helpful and supportive.

What a wonderful hotel! The Jr. Suite was spacious, the food in the restaurant was delicious and plentiful, the transportation to the airport was timely and comfortable. On top of all that every staff interaction was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if we return to Belize City.

Excellent experience at the Golden Bay Belize Hotel! We enjoyed the restaurant on the roof! The hotel staff were friendly & helpful! The location was perfect for walking around & exploring!

This was really unexpectedly excellent. One night stay over before going to Placencia. The suite we stayed in was palatial and we opted for in room dining. Four course meal served by white gloved server. (Valentines menu) Food was excellent and served on the very large dining room table. The interior can only be described as Alice in wonderland chique. Highly recommended.

On the plus side: excellent roof top restaurant and happy hour, very clean and close to the water taxi. BUT: they tried giving us a room with NO WINDOWS, because we did not book ocean view. We had to insist as the pictures on the hotel website and Expedia clearly show windows for the standard rooms. We checked in at the start and end of our Belize visit, and both times they tried giving us a room with no window and tried to charge us for an upgrade. We refused and they did end up changing our room for free, but we had to insist and mention false advertizing.

Rooms are nice, but no common area to sit besides the restaurant. Taxi driver they arranged for me to the airport was terrible. Completely cracked windshield and sounded like it was going to fall apart on every curve and bump.

The lady @ the front desk was very accommodating & sweet. The cleaning ladies were nice & helpful as well. Room & bathroom were clean. Construction began around 7:30am everyday & I was forced to wake up early while on vacation. Not ideal. Still a good hotel overall.
