This was an experience, not one that I would have again, but overall it was a pleasant stay. The room was lovely, but a lack of attention to detail and thinking that it would have been an amazing 5 years ago when things were newer. I opted for the room with a copper bath, which was lovely, but there were scratches and dints all over.
Management were stood around loitering whilst I noted the other staff were busy which is found strange and a little unsettling as the other staff were hard at work.
The hotel was lovely, but the little things were missing and a lack of attention to detail, ie. No tea & coffee making facilities, the room was very dark, even when the lights were on, there was a slug in the tented area and a distinct smell of damp. Breakfast was the most disappointing, firstly staff were not attentive at all, and the breakfast was subpar (14.00 for a hot, full breakfast) and the pitched eggs were hard & not runny, bacon tasted cheap & was just cooked, one sausage & no toast. Continental, was also poor and the had a pain o chocolate or croissant.and toast was sent back twice as it was barely toasted. They had only pulp orange & the soft drinks were warm (so I had an option of water) I’ve had better breakfasts in a Wetherspoon & for a delux hotel, this was very disappointing.
I think for the price, the crazy bear need to up their game considerably, as a good breakfast (18.00 total) would have seen me overlook the missing details, but sadly it didnt deliver
