Was right by pool couldn't open curtains. Advertisement said free continental breakfast. I went with limited funds and picked this hotel because of that particular advertisement. Very disappointed cause I could only pay for one meal a day. Will never stay here again unless I get a refund. That way I know what to expect.

Unfortunately I was told that this location was under new management when I started to discuss the changes I’d noticed. My favorite location has become my least favorite. The patio furniture was removed from the balcony for safety reasons. That was a highlight. Watching the sun rise and set from the balcony. Bedding was old and stained when put up to lights! Unsafe conditions on the balcony could possibly stem from the step you have to take to step over the door jam when going out on the balcony
Ceiling started leaking after 30 minutes of hard rain.

I asked for a room with a better view. I was told they were sold out. Then when we returned to the room we could not get in because the door malfunctioned. We were locked out the room. They put us in another room that had a better view. So he lied. Had to wait until the next day to get into the room and get our belongings, which included medication, and they did not accommodate us in anyway. We were just stuck out. The hotel was clean and the restaurant was good. No other issues during our stay.

The room was not ready, so we were unable to check-in to shower and change clothes to prepare for my nieces Graduation from LSU. We had to leave and find somewhere else to go and then once all the celebration was done we didn't check in until around 1 am and check was at 11 am which was not worth paying that much money.

We just left Capital Hilton this afternoon. Worst hotel experience… dirty (room), old seedy cracked leather furniture, only one of the two room cards worked, defective TV requiring a maintenance visit, water bugs near pool and on the deck, no ice available two nights on our floor, no housekeeping visit… one visit out of five nights - garbage, unmade beds, no fresh glasses… had to personally approach a cart to get fresh towels, staff at front door (3 people at all times) talked amongst themselves and were on their phones - not once was a door opened, not once were we greeted, upon check in, not a luggage cart was offered for our bags ( 2 rooms family of 5), only one out of 2 card keys worked, one person behind the desk with a half hour wait for our turn to check in - she was unbelievably unfriendly… one of the room doors required a maintenance visit AND restaurant closed on a Saturday night - only food available had to be ordered and eaten in the bar - all of the tables were dirty and needed to be bussed. We have stayed at the Watermark up the block many times and have had a wonderful experience. Only reason we went to the Hilton was due to traveling with children and the Watermark does not have a pool.. The Hilton pool has a tremendous deck with a pool the size of an average kiddie pool. Pool in need of repair as a screw was sticking out for a light in the pool.. dangerous. Stay elsewhere

A must try!

This grand old classic is well worth the money. Recently upgraded, the service is amazing and the rooms are wonderful. You are right on the Mississippi and near the Old Capitol. Also to far from the LSU campus. Great for walking. Loved our stay!
