The recent reviews had me a bit leary. However, we found the Hampton Inn to be as comfortable, welcoming and clean as usual. It was a great stay. The breakfast was very good too! The girls at the front desk in the evening and overnight were very sweet.
Sent us to a room that was already occupied and then housekeeping walked into our room without a knock and before check-out time the next morning. Crumbs and debris on the carpet in the room….

The hotel was nice and the service adequate. The shower did not drain properly so we stood in water over our ankles while showering. When we checked out we reported the issue and received only a "I'll report it to maintenance" response. No apology or concern for how we felt about it. For $230 we expected more.
The pool was closed no notice, the room smelled of mildew, the carpet was dirty, bed was horrible, breakfast was under cooked. When asking a question regarding times for breakfast at the front desk they had no idea what time it was open till.
Please read me carefully because you are going to choose to stay here. Their staff is terrible, rude and disrespectful. First contact was receptionist and she was not happy to see us. She rudely checked us in and seems like don’t like her job. Rooms were smelly and bathrooms has roaches. The entire staff of the hotel was very disturbed to see colour of skin. I feel the staff was raciest and pathetic. The pool was broken and in used for guest and no safety concerns. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Don’t go here with your kids they will be very disappointed and have worst experience of their life because this place and people who work here.
The bathroom had mold in the shower corners and handles the carpet was a bit sketchy.
The breakfast was delicious and it was very quiet. I wished I would have brought my Clorox bleach spray to get those spots. We only got two towels and they were very old.
We were awoken at 11:30pm when someone was trying to enter our room. Followed by a phone call wanting to know who I was and what our room number was. They said we weren't in the system. Followed by a second phone call wanting to know if we were part of the national grid. Then a third call, by now it was midnight saying that I had to come to the desk with ID and a confirmation number which I had already provided at check in. When I went to the desk they took my info and finally found or reservation saying it had been canceled. We were checked into our room sleeping. How could it be canceled. Then they said it was canceled because my card had been declined. Well, my card was not declined. Expedia took my payment off my card then when they went to pay the hotel the card they used was declined not mine. The desk clerk said she would call expedia and straighten things out and for me to go get some sleep. Im sure this could have waited until the morning to be handled. This was a very unpleasent stay to say the least and will not use expedia or stay at a Hampton again.

The room was expensive. I booked it because they had an indoor pool. After we arrived, they shut the pool down due to some mechanical issue. The property overall was not up to the normal Hampton standards. Was a bit older and somewhat less clean.
Our toilets were slow running we were afraid they were going to run out all over. The water in the shower was hard to figure out and never fully transferred to full shower. The bottles of conditioner and body lotion were empty and we had 3 adults in the room and only 2 bath towels. The breakfast was the same as it is in any other hotel nothing stood out and we ended up wasting more than we ate. The staff was kind and friendly and the rooms were clean. The pool area was nice however the gym area was closed for an unspecified reason. It was ok for a one night quick stay after a long day at 6 Flags.
During our roadtrip we unexpectedly had to stop for the night due to weather. We booked this hotel solely on the fact that we couldn’t find any availability for the night in Buffalo. The reviews were very misleading and we were not entirely satisfied. The room had a smell that was a mixture of mildew and smoke and the carpets and furniture were stained. It also appears that the hotel has a known infestation of pill bugs and we were really not happy with the bugs even if they are harmless. The breakfast service was supposed to begin at 6am and at 6:30 the coffee was the only thing available, and they didn’t even have cream or anything out for it yet. I can’t believe we spent $270 for less than twelve hours, I really wish Hotels.com gave reimbursements especially when their posted ratings are deceptive.
Electrical wires hanging by pool door entrance, elevator electrical encasement is cracked, fire light is broken, slight shuttering sound occasionally heard while riding elevator. Overall safety is questionable. Inside lobby air conditioner is turned off during the day but is on at night only when the owner is working, had to ask for pool towels, continued non replenishment. Bug infestation sign posted by owner rollie pin bugs? As if this problem is acceptable at all. Owner states her children/relatives play with them and that's supposed to make this ok. Very unbecoming a Hilton brand!
We pass through Batavia, NY a couple times a year on our way back from visiting our son and his family in Vermont. We have always stayed at the Wyndham La Quinta but for some unknown reason their rates had doubled? This Hampton Inn was by far better and reasonably priced.
