Check-in was easy and friendly. We had a superior room which was quiet, facing out to a courtyard rather than the road. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities good. It was great to have a pool as well as the gym. The breakfasts were plentiful, setting us up for the day. We were initially unsure about the hotel's location as the route took us sideways away from the recognisable routes to the old town, past a park and down a steep, secluded slope. However once there the hotel is on a wide road served by trams and with the theatre area only about 10 minutes walk away. There is also a parallel street full of bars and restaurants so there is plenty of choice nearby. Overall, we were very happy with our choice of hotel and recommend it highly.

No communication

I wanted to confirm a few points before arrival - that my child had been added to the booking and that parking was available. Very disappointing that despite emailing twice to both the hotel and HQ, and phoning, there was no response. On arrival there was no apology when mentioning this at reception, just confirmation that they’d seen the email that morning, but no reason as to why no response was sent. It was also disappointing that the marketing photos for the Suite show there to be a small balcony area only to be told on arrival that no rooms have balconies. Not the service I would expect from a Radisson hotel at all. Plenty of other, similar priced hotels in Basel which are much better.

The pool was closed for cleaning with no warning - given it was a big factor why I selected the hotel. Restaurant food poor and room was dated and tired. Disappointing I am afraid not the usual Radisson blue standard

Beautiful updated hotel, convenient for our performance at the Stadtcasino. Our only qualm was a mixup with the rooms. I was informed our room category had adjoining rooms available. The request for adjoining rooms was confirmed both via email and verbally. At check-in, however, we were informed that adjoining rooms didn’t exist in the room category we booked, and because the hotel was fully booked, there was no availability to switch. This was not ideal for our large family with young kids.
