The staff was friendly however upon entering the room I noticed that for two people there was only two towels and one facecloth. Had to ask for more. The overhead fan in the bathroom looked like it had fur on it. Asked again to have this cleaned..was told someone would do that. Also the light grid above the sink had fur on it as well and the light didn't work. Stayed for three nights..no one showed up to clean the fan or the room even though the info sheet says that the rooms are cleaned every other day. Went to turn on the heat and there was a door under the thermostate so I opened it and the filter was so full that I didn't turn on the heat cause it's bad enough having to breathe in the bathroom fan that I didn't want to breathe the heat in as well. The hair dryer you had to dry my hair with one hand and hold the on button on with the other otherwise the drier turned off. There was no drain plugs in the sink or bathtub so had to watch that nothing fell into the hole..Wonder how many times they've had to call the plumber to remove items fallen in the whole. So in other words..if anyone is looking to stay at this location..do a room check before you check in to make sure that it's clean.

The Stone Gate Inn was a lovely property with extremely friendly staff. It was a 15-20 minute drive from the entertainment venue at Rama which wasn’t overly convenient. The breakfast provided in the morning was well organized, well stocked and provided quite a variety of items. There was recently a leak in the bathroom above us and the ceiling tile was soaked. This caused the extra roll of toilet paper to be drenched on top of the toilet in our room. That was an unpleasant surprise after midnight. We reported the concern at checkout so it can be addressed. Aside from that issue we would give it a 5 star rating. Definitely would stay there again.

The complimentary continental breakfast was surprisingly good! I just wish that the bar area was open. Hot tub also was boarded up, but pool was open and the rooms were generously sized and clean.

Great place to stay
Hotel staff was very welcoming and pleasant, willing to help and answer questions. The suites were large, Full kitchen clean and very comfortable, as was the bed. Very quiet. Scrambled eggs were made fresh when ordered for breafast. Enjoyable stay. I recommend it to anyone staying in the Orillia area. Very close to downtown the marina, and less than 20 minutes to Casino Rama.

We spent the night here after a show at the casino. The rate we paid in comparison to chain properties in the area was excellent. The room was clean, quiet, and cozy. The breakfast in the morning had a good variety of food items, with the option for scrambled eggs upon request as well. Overall, we had an excellent stay and would return if we are in the area again.

Not what you could tell it used to be, maybe under new management. The bedside lamp in my room looked like Freddy and Jason fought over it. There were two long legged spiders behind the bathroom door and the AC was blasting down the hall while it was 6°C outside. Originally booked the room because I work outside all day and looked forward to the hot tub they advertise having, but it isn’t there anymore. Instead they told me they have a “warm pool” which looks like it needs a pretty good cleaning. I’d go back if I were in a pinch but I’d probably recommend looking at comparable options first.
