: Excellent location. Everything is literally around the corner, walking distance, including old town. Excellent and inexpensive breakfast cafe right across from the hotel. Staff friendly, helped with the taxi. -: Rooms are very tiny, no room for suitcases. Got a few bruises moving around the room. Light in the room is on the “economy” side - had only two night stands with night lights. Was Ok for the price.

Very professional staff. Great breakfast options for a reasonable fee. we were two families travelling and were given rooms close to each other connected by our own hallway so very private and quiet. Free water available. Provided information on transportation and arranged for a taxi to pick up at the front door during a very rainy day. Looks like a former palace and just off La Rambla. Nearby bus stop for Barcelonetta Beach and the shopping mall near Catalunya with the 9th floor cafeteria with great food and views of the city.

I don’t even know where to start. I usually don’t write reviews since as a frequent traveler that’s visited multiple different countries, I’ve never had such a bad experience staying at a hotel. I’m hoping my review will help this hotel improve and for the reader to make an informed decision when choosing an establishment to stay at in Barcelona. The shower head was leaking from multiple sides, and both the shower and sink drains didn’t work well and would clog while using them. If you need to iron your clothes bring one because they have none at the hotel. The toilet didn’t flush half the time. On one of the days the cleaning staff missed our room even though it wasn’t 4 o’clock yet which is when they stop making their rounds. The hotel has a room where they keep the luggage for anyone in between check-ins and checkouts and when we went to get our luggage before leaving for the airport we noticed another guest had taken one of our suite cases because the hotel had no system or supervisor to prevent that from happening. Lastly some of the hotel staff were unprofessional and rude when we tried to resolve some of the issues mentioned above.

It was nice that the property would allow guests to drop off luggage prior to check in which was at 3pm, no exceptions. The carpet in the hotel room was worn and splitting. The tile flooring was chipped. The toilet ran. The adjacent room guests stayed up late partying and were loud. One night about 1am we heard a dog barking in the next room. The hotel had a great location.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nouvel, Barcelona. This hotel is on a laneway adjoining La Rambla and very near Pl. de Catalunya making it a great place for a tourist visit including proximity to transport and the many hop-on hop-off tourist buses. Being in a laneway it was quiet and away from the chaos of la Rambla itself. We came to Barcelona before a conference and stayed at Hotel Nouvel first, moving to a hotel closer to the actual conference venue when it started as la Rambla is a bit of a distance from the big conference venues.

Lovely and fantastic location
Great location and sweet hotel with lots of character and charm. I stayed here at the end of a long trip and mostly loved it, but they advertise laundry services and did not actually have laundry and it negatively impacted me. Room was also a little dark.
