Like people, measure of quality can be measured after difficult period, and in this, an earthquake shaking Bangkok for a day. After safely evacuating, whole area around the hotel were full of scared and confused people who rushed out to the streets. As other hotels around the area didn't do a thing for their hotel guests, MUU hotel staffs were busy handing out water and other drinks to everyone around the hotel waiting on the streets. Within 2 hours, hotel staffs were in full swing securing and cleaning rooms and common areas, and we were allowed to go back to our rooms. I witnessed how hard everyone at the hotel were working to ensure safety and giving out information which were hard to come by within few hours after.
MUU hotel takes pride in taking their customers like family. I experienced this first hand by people like Beam and GiGi at front desk, Concierge man who personally carried my bags to the hotel next block away, Duty manager and countless other staffs at the hotel treating their guests like true family member.
I've stayed at many hotels thru the years, both good and bad. MUU will forever change my perception of a true Thai hospitality. True measure of one's strengths is formed forever after an adversity. This earthquake experience has forever stamped MUU hotel as the best hotel staff in my 40 plus years of travel.
I have already changed my future hotel stays in Bangkok to ensure I go back to MUU hotel Thonglo.
