Location was great in town. Free shuttle for ski hill was right in front of hotel. Breakfast was included. Loved the little coffee bar which also served snacks and drinks. Cozy lobby. Loved the outside hot tubs and sauna. We didn’t use the cool plunge pool but you could get the whole spa experience. Rooms cozy.

Great stay at Canalta Lodge between Christmas and New Year. Nice, clean rooms with helpful staff. Good breakfast options and enjoyed the hot tub, cold plunge and sauna. We even received rental discounts from Snowtips-Backtrax when mentioning Canalta.

Nice outdoor spa
Rooms are nice but not as cozy as some of the other Banff properties. A big downside is parking is $19/night whereas it is free at most other properties in Banff, but there is free continental breakfast. Outdoor hot tub and sauna is lovely.

Overall the property was nice and the amenities were lovely with the hot tubs and sauna, however our room wasn’t quiet at all, and it was hard to get the rest we needed. Our room was next to the elevator so from 5am it would be noisy with people in the hallway having conversations, stomping around in snow boots, dropping their equipment getting ready to catch the bus to go to the ski hill. We were hoping to stay here to get some rest over Christmas after one of the toughest years of our lives but didn’t leave feeling happy and rested. Overall, we would stay here again for the amenities but wouldn’t stay if we are placed in the same room. The soundproofing needs improvement as it sounds like the people in the hallways are in the room with you.

I have stayed many times at this hotel, which I guess speaks for itself. My main critique would be that the mattresses are a bit lumpy and old, and so if you have any back problems, sometimes it can be a bit uncomfortable. That being said, the staff is amazing, the breakfast is wonderful, and I enjoyed the hot and cold tubs quite a lot.
